A documentary about the rise and demise of Missouri's First Black City: Kinloch, MO.
Kinloch, Missouri, a town resting on life support with less than 200 citizens still residing in the area, a city budget flirting on the line of bankruptcy, corruption appearing to be the main job description for several local officials, and a few sunsets away from extinction. This once thriving all American Black city - Missouri’s First Black City and the oldest all Black city west of the Mississippi- leaves but a breath of prosperity that it was once known for.
Witnessing the erasure of predominately Black and thriving communities has been a common trend for several years. There’s “Black Wall Street” in Greenwood, Oklahoma; Rosewood, Florida; Freedman’s Town, Texas; East St. Louis, Illinois, and the list will continue to continue. Kinloch, Missouri, Missouri’s First Black City and the “Harlem of the Midwest” falls on this list. Kinloch contains a wealth of history that explains how racial division has manifested for several decades
The Kinloch Doc has a crowdfunding campaign launching APRIL 10 to raise funds for
the remainder of post-production of the documentary.

I just want to say as a previously clueless 40 year white woman from Washington state I had no idea before today about Kinloch or Tulsa Seneca or any of the many other horrible events you've mentioned in this trailer. As I'm sure you're well aware this isn't in the history books. I don't know if the full video is here on RU-vid but even having this trailer gave me enough info that I'm going to watch this trailer until I know all of the names and dates by heart. So I can not only teach my children and others about them, but do more research also! ❤ Kudos for shining a light on the darkness that has been hidden in history they deserve to have a voice! ❤❤❤❤❤

Not just Missouri's first black city BUT America's first black city .... according to the Kinloch Museum which is probably gone now too. You can find other video footage of Kinloch here on YT. I know there was a big bunch of videos people uploaded of Kinloch here to YT. Blessings & good luck!🤗

Tulsa Oklahoma was a black city that was a very very strong community in yhe 1920s and 1930s... They had an thriving economy, where there dollar circulated through there community some 300 times before it ever left its community. A lesson that if every local community followed today it wouldn't matter what a "national economy" was like. the Tulsa riots, we caused by the central banking system coming against their strong economy and community, because Tulsa refused to allow a central bank coming into their community. It was a very sad thing. All wars and corruption can be narrowed down to the central banking system. And if we want true freedom today, we aught to look at the example of Tulsa Oklahoma and the strength of their economy and community.

Hello Brittany, I have grandparents that lived in Kinloch, Missouri at once and other family members. I actually used to go to elementary school there, like in kindergarten or first grade or something like that. Including I went to church there at one point. If you'd like to interview anyone. Please reach out to me. I'm sure I can set something up with a few people. Either way, I hope you can get the documentary up fairly soon. I would love to view the film, and show my grandparents while their still around. My grandfather is 91, and grandmother is is 87 I think. So if you wanted information from anyone from my side of the family, im sure they would have a wealth of information for you. Hope to see your film soon!

I used to work delivering pizza in Ferguson, MO (2005) and lived in Berkley. Kinloch was technically in our delivery area. We weren't allowed to even drive through the borough because of all the times our cars were shot at. A lot of the houses that were lived in didn't even have front doors, only blankets covering the entrances. Their theory was either they sold their doors for drugs, or just made it easier to enter the house to buy drugs. Why don't I ever see this stuff in any documentary?
@BrittneyJanae
@BrittneyJanae 4 месяца назад
You may not physically see that but it all stems from a system that pushes people including bad people into an area and that’s the result. It use to be a thriving black community and after being pushed out and things changing that’s what it resulted too. It’s the bigger picture that matters. But you should check out the film
