Man, anyone would be blessed if they were your apprentice. I plan to use this video to make my own. I’m very new to woodworking and found your video very inspiring. Thank you!

You have done a nice build on this bench. This design is just what I was looking for. I'm a retired guy that is new to woodworking ( I'm a electronics guy), and this seems to be in range of my limited woodworking skills, and a nice fit into my 13'x13' workshop space. Well done sir, and many thanks for posting your build on YT, cheers from Utah.

Thank you for the comment. I too spent my career in electronics and computers. I retired and found woodworking. What a great passion to have, enjoy.

I like this one. Remodeling and moving stuff around in the shop. I will get around to building this bench when ready.

Scott, it has served me well. The only thing I would do different is not make the saw removalable. I don't ever take it out now.

Hi - I like the built and, love the measuring tape with the track for the stops. I'm working on configuring a one-car garage shop. My question is, since you've built this, have your ever regretted (might be a harsh word) not incorporating your table saw into the same built for out feed? Thanks, Matt
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop 6 месяцев назад
Hey Matt. My table saw incorporates my router table and has its own outfeed. I like having them separate and they are both on wheels. Works for my shop.

8 pocket hole screws holding 2 2x4's plus plywood plus the saw itself! Is it still intact? Gusset plates made with plywood would help this weak structure immensely. From a framer with 35 yrs. experience.
@AlaskaWorkshop

No issues
@WarEagledkp

I may have missed the explanation, but why are you using two-layers of 3/4 plywood for the tabletops? Nice project and nice finished product!
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop Год назад
I copied another bench that I had made and I used 2 for its top so I could easily put another top on if I dinged it up too much. Really no reason to have two, but I like the solid feel of it.

Great work. Was wondering why you doubled up the ply for the bench tops?
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop Год назад
No real reason to do that. I do like how beefy it is though. The t-tracks only have 3/8ths to screw into with one layer. If you use the t-track to clamp things down that is not enough. You will need to epoxy the track in.

Hi, nice and strong miter saw table / work bench. I like how sturdy the build looks to be. I think I may build this one for my wood shop. I was looking at the drawings. I can open the 4 png files, but not the skp file. Is that the full model in sketchup?
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop Год назад
Yes, that is a sketchup model. Online sketchup version from a couple years ago but will open with latest free version.

With the center being 28 inches and wood not angled is there enough room for the saw to swing all the way to 60 degrees. I have a dewalt 779, which appears to be similar to what you have on your table.
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop 6 месяцев назад
No, I can move to the left 45 and to the right 50 degrees. I have the 779 as well, good saw.
@glenngarner5118
@glenngarner5118 2 года назад
Exactly what I was looking for with the Dewalt slider. Anything you would change or build differently? Will the 90 degree corners allow you to use full miter angles on both sides? Thanks
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop 2 года назад
The left side allows 45 degrees, right side allows 50 degrees. Has not been an issue but I would probably cut the corners to allow more swing. I will probably build some drawers under the table on the right side. Things tend to accumulate and I feel it is wasted space. It has been a great table for me.
@glenngarner5118

Just what I was looking for. Is that the 12 in sliding miter saw and how tall are the middle legs. I don’t see the height in the drawings
@AlaskaWorkshop
@AlaskaWorkshop 3 года назад
It is the 12 in model. Really like it except it can not be used against the wall. That is okay though, the bench is easy to move. The middle legs are 23 3/8". I dropped another drawing in the directory to show this.
