I appear to be in the minority, but I love The Deal and Star so much. In the deal, knowing that even giving up your soul will not let you be truly free from pain is such a hard hitter. And in star, if you know how light works and how we observe the stars, we often look at the light of long dead stars that is still traveling towards us. While the stars, like love, may be gone the light is still visible, traveling towards us.

yes! the new album is literally so heavenly and homey in a way. also, the meaning behind the song My Love Mine All Mine was released in a short video on Mitskis RU-vid channel, but in short, its about the thought of what can you actually keep forever, beacouse material things in the end dissapear, however love can stay endlessly, and Mitski desribed that she wishes she could leave all the love behind after its her time to go.

mitski did say in an interview that she feels the need to make a strong impression as quick as possible. i agree that she’s not appearing to the tiktok vibe but at the same time she understands that people’s attention spans are tiny.

IKR?! Since Heaven dropped I can't stop thinking that this one has a lot of Sufjan Stevens' vibes on it. Specifically the outro, with those fancy flutes.
