(Less engine ticking sound) I'm also in the UK I have no mid silencer no rear muffler but I still have the cat and dpf, I would love to have the dpf removed but from what I understand the remapping of these is very involved (removing ECU soldering wires etc) and is needed if the dpf is to be removed my question is are you having yours mapped or just deleting? As I would like to find a way of doing so without a remap/tune. Thanks 👍 great sounding car!!

Yes, they are really reliable. Make sure the fuel pipes are not rotting behind the rear wheel cover. Once water gets in the fuel tank it is game over for the fuel pump.
Eventually one of the pistons melted. I just had enough of it at that point. I did enjoy her but the constant cost of keeping it on the road was ridiculous.
I just sold my 1998 300tdu and bought Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 2011 I love my land rover but the Pajero was the best choice, I'm so happy and I still have my 1979 series 3

my pajero is cranking for a second or two longer than yours just noticed today it used to always start like yours any idea my problem cranking rpn is as good as yours
209000 miles update now it stopped driving along yesterday and wont start now wont even fire fill start on a pull start but wont run with a very distinctive pressure escaping sound similar to a gasket gone
iit does rev up quick though when not in gear or driving, and you can hear the turbo, on rev down the turbo sounds like a sports car one so it must be powerfull, i think mitsubishi turbows are good anyway. They are powerfull on the 170BHP Mitsubishi l200 2.4 engine, and they are even fited to some vauxhall zafira engines, The 1.7 in particular, and ford vehicles as well so they must be good
