Mitsubishi 9800 Wooden Pencil Review 

Gosh, that box is so gorgeous!! And, so are the boxes for the other variants of this pencil line!? Lovely graphic design inspiration.

They are broad and you can draw very good with them. My sister bought me a set of 3 and they came with little plastic caps to protect the leads. I notice that the graphite is totally centered in the wood, that is signal of a good manufacture.

The eraser on the 9850 is actually quite nice. These are excellent too.

I have a box of these but I haven't used them yet. They're beautiful and it's almost a shame to sharpen & use them!

I bought a box, they are so wonderful to write with. I got a swordfish triple sharpener which works great with them.

I agree, the box is beautiful. I got the 'B'-grade version of this pencil and just love it. Keep up the good work. (I have subbed).

I also prefer pens, unless I’m feeling shady. I’ll sit with a pencil for a minute and lay it sideways to shade half of a page sometimes.

Good-looking pencils...

Japanese pencils are very good and well made, they never disappoint… my only concern is the point retention, they are much like Ticonderoga Pencils, they are often so soft that it’s hard to keep a point on them

suggestion: one indication of quality is how well centred the lead. so you should show everyone the unsharpened end.
