Another pencil in the Mitsubishi 9850 series, this is the 9850 in HB. Let me thank my friend Dave who shared it with me! Like the other Mitsubishi pencils, it features a handsome paint job, vibrant imprint, and high quality cedar wood. This is a wonderful writing pencil that really delivers on quality.

Superb pencil. Could easily be in my Top 5, but with the very comparable Tombow and Kitaboshi pencils represented there atop my list, I had to make room to squeeze in a few pencils from other parts of the world!

Great video. The part where I could hear just the clock and the nice pencil gliding on the paper definitely had some great ASMR qualities. Very relaxing.

how do they compare to the 9852 version?

They are very similar. Some say the 9852 has a better eraser (it's pink instead of white), but otherwise I think they are pretty close in performance.
