Awesome job with the Zero & the weathering looks very realistic👍💯👍💯👍💯. I think that zero known by the decal & the number is from AKAGI Fighter Group (2nd wave) flown by Lt. Saburo Shindo during the attack of Pearl Harbor. "Note this just history"
I think you nailed the weathering. For those who think you went over board on the weathering must not have ever looked into actual historic photos of WWII aircraft and how absolutely destroyed they looked for those that were lucky enough to make it deep in the war. There are many many, many photos of zeros with hardly any paint on them as SALT WATER FROM THE OCEAN corroeds and eats the paint and aluminum from aircraft. So hell of a job..
Not this early in the war. the ground crew that allowed their plain to get that dirty and such would have been thrown overboard. These planes were kept VERY clean and some (at least) were even waxed in an attempt to improve performance. HOWEVER, you are quite right about the weathering later inn the war - those planes were beat to hell. That said, artistically (I make full allowance for artistic expression) the finished model here is a true work of art! I can only look forward to when I am able to do such magnificent work.
This is it.... a Zero model built to perfection..... I can never build a Zero again..... Yes I can lol, wonderfully inspirational video :D I really like the dropped flaps and added rivets this is a stunning model :D
I just built and painted this plan, i did a layer of chrome and then white. what should i use to weather it down on the edges and what not? I was thinking just use a bit of paint thinner and a paper towel or q tip
Amazing job David, hats off. I have 2 questions, Do you clean the oil wash with dry kitchen paper or you make it wet with something? On weathering with oil stage, after you put the oils on to the model, how do you feather it? with dry brush or with thinner or turpentine etc. Thank you...
These things are a work of art! Do you sell these, because I'd pay for one and I'll bet I'm not the only one. So realistic looking and by far the best modeling skills on RU-vid, let alone in real life. I'll pay for an A6 intruder or a F4U Corsair.
Very nice type zero build. The paint scheme is freaking me out. Not to white, not to gray. I have the Airfix 1/72 kit, but I haven't built it yet because of the paint issue. This paint scheme is close.
hey, what type of paint did you use to bring out the different surfaces and parts (i mean the black diluted paint)? Is simply it very diluted water paint or taimya paint?
you have that golden hands. All your works are fabulous. watching all your videos, how easy for you to handle and create the arts. Well done. I do enjoy your videos. Please build F-14 Tom Cat for your next project.
Finally someone who has a tutorial without all of the useless chatter, box reviews (hate them) and just shows you how to build it. It is his way, but it is so informative and the boredom factor is ZERO !!! Thanks for a great tutorial ...
