My second car was an 8G Galant base model. Always thought it was a stunningly pretty car and always wanted to get a VR4 with that magical V6. Maybe some day I will. Great video, I didn't know the 6G VR4 came from an abandoned Starion Group B project. It's such a shame Mitsubishi has fallen to the level it has now.

Was hoping to see some mention about the AMG Galant. Although it was not a VR-4 Its a big deal being Pre Merger AMG tuned 500 of them. Im6 currently restoring my Galant VR4 and I have thr complete AMG Body trim.

i grew up around all mitsubishi’s i even bought a 3000gt as my first car, the vr4 galant is the only legendary Mitsu i have yet to see..

I had a chance to pick one of these up in the early 2000s when I was 21. Bought a heavily modified Honda Prelude instead. The Honda was a great car but I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Galant. I was talked out of it because someone said "those turbos are gonna be trouble, better to buy something with less moving parts". Maybe he was right but had I known how rare they were it wouldn't have even been close. 2 grand for it back then. Good luck even finding one for sale now.

Blessed are those who drove it, repaired it, and own it. Truly a remarkable car. A sport sedan of no equal. Succeed only by another series of truly sports sedans. The now legendary Lancer evolution series. Alas, Mitsubishi no longer makes the hearts of the petrol heads race with excitement. Hope this will change soon.

I love what makes it so great, and I have to add a tree bite to the Honda Prelude, on of my personal favorites.

Love my 6th gen. Tracked down RS bumper and hood for it. Got a 4 bolt LSD rear in it. Currently building a box with straight cut gears based on an evo 2 RS box for it. Once that is done it's finally time to use all the parts under my bed and build my 94mm stroker. 😁

I miss my 2 vr4s... unfortunately, the prices are crazy right now. I bought my first one for 1400 and second for 2200.

My brother has the first VR4 rally car built by Blaze Motorsport which was campaigned in Asia , 1000 lakes , UK ( coming 2nd to a certain Colin McRae in Scotland) What a fantastic car to drive .

Bought a 91 Galant Vr4 in 1999 (My senior year in high school) and drove it all through college. Got it running mid 11's in the 1/4mi and just loved that car. I bought it with just under 200k miles on it and when I sold it in 2005 (God i regret selling it) It had 333k on the clock and it was still running great. Sure i rebuilt the engine so I could run more boost but it never failed on me in any bad way. I miss the world of fun/cheap project cars from the late 80's through the early 90's. I bought that Vr4 for 3k and owned a handful of other DSM's and they were all in the 2-4k range.

Underrated car and channel

I spotted a clean 8th gen Galant VR-4 last week , didn't know what it was , then I started learning about it , such a cool car

"what makes them so great" well we call them the baby evo. Me personally, I would take a galant vr4 over an evo. shrug emoji honestly? mitsubishi needs to get their head out their asses. the evo is gone (rip) and yeah, least you can buy a mirage/g4 or an SUV.... lmao what a joke! Imagine the mirage with AWD, a proper 4cyl turbo engine, and same basic interior. a low end mini-monster that's cheaper than other small size awd vehicles (toyota GR yaris isn't even sold in the US, but if it was, it would be rather expensive, like subaru STI price territory. 30-50k). meanwhile a mirage-four with awd, 4cyl turbo, and better suspension design, would absolutely slay the market for like 20-25k.... considering right now they sell for like 12-16k depending on model and specs.... I got my 2015 mirage (gas sipper so I could save on trips to/from work) for 13,500.... and that was back in 2015! brand new ES model, manual transmission (epic win, shame that's gone on newer models....) it was legit the first "new" car ive ever owned.... ive usually bought used before then. 1993 honda del sol. 2006 honda s2000. 2005 subaru impreza wrx sti.... ive been around the block. but having a gas sipper for cheap gas prices was minted. oh need to go grocery shopping, take the mirage.... oh hanging out with friends, take the STI, going to work, take the mirage.... I feel like car brands are dying. they keep doing this woke "bubble" look and every car looks the same. I sort of blame US safety laws.... we can't even get kei cars from Japan due to these laws. If its good enough for the rest of the world, why isn't it good for the US? the answer to me isn't safety rating but those cheap kei cars would have DEMOLISHED the Americana car industry, which they ended up doing on their own.... how many "cars" can you buy now? ford literally only has the mustang because lol. chevy has the malibu and after 2024 the camaro is gone.... so just the malibu.... I don't count the corvette because the price range is a bit more of a unique price, I mean no one is buying a base model corvette, that's just fucking stupid. you are more than likely going for something like the z06 if you go that territory, so about 120,000 or so.... not a normal person priced vehicle by any means. mid life crisis maybe... lmao. dodge charger and challenger.... from their website a 2024 version doesn't exist.... dead. honestly what's left? the Americana car industry has died and essentially amber heard'd the bed (shit the bed). Chrysler 300? gone.... now what's the common denominator for these vehicles? PRICE. none of them cost 20k.... all average around 30k or more. what happened to budget Americana cars? everything is ass rape expensive. no wonder young teens and young adults are opting for buying cheap USED cars. they can't fucking afford a new car.... especially with inflation being high as shit (thanks biden for increasing that more than any other president you dumb fucker) remember a time when we could buy new cars if we wanted to? I had that right when I was younger. but I opted for 6k used honda del sol instead. even took a really shitty loan out to get it because I wanted it so bad, the interest was insane. but you know what, I was happy to have the car I WANTED. today, you have no choices in cars.... and the ones you do have a choice for, aren't for the poor/middle class at a young age. sure if you are middle class and a bit more mature, a loan on a 30k car or even cash outright from saving is no problem. but by that point you already have a vehicle, why buy a new one? just rock the one you got.... the american car industry is dying.... somethings gotta change. they have all this great history of vehicles and we see NONE OF THEM. Ford Torino, Ford Maveric, Ford Escort, Ford Capri, THE FORD FUCKING PROBE (loved those things), Chevy fucking Nomad (yeah, wagon baby), the Chevy El Camino, Chevy NOVA, the Chevy Monte Fucking Carlo, Dodge Daytona, Shadow, Spirit, Neon.... the list goes on for days. They have all this history and ignore it. AND EVEN IF THEY DID, the car would look like shit, I mean lets be honest, the Dodge Charger/Challenger was the same fucking chassis.... different body panels and slightly different interior.... its a fucking joke. So even IF they brought back classics, they would ruin them.... they would end up looking like every other car on the market. And don't feed me this "aerodynamics" bullshit. BMW M3 E30.... square body sexy car.... like 14mpg city and 18mpg highway. has gas mileage improved since 1988? fuck no. all this aerodynamics, more efficient motors, and we still don't have any better MPG than then.... not even close. A modern M3 (that looks like shit) gets 16 city 22 highway.... between a "aerodynamic body" and "more efficient engine" you gained 2mpg city and 4mpg highway.... clearly, aerodynamics don't mean dick. and some might argue "well the engine IS more efficient, but also makes more power, so that's why" come on man.... come on. be honest with yourself! its bullshit.... Italians hand gesture bullshit. aerodynamics do not effect a god damn thing. now someone else might bring up the Toyota Prius, when you remove the hub caps you get lower MPG or so its claimed. okay now remove the front and rear bumper and tell me if you gain/lose mpg.... because i bet it stays the fucking same. hell there are people on forums who "removed their prius hub caps" and "get the same mpg as before".... honda, that one hybrid. the fucking insight.... with those gas ass rear wheel covers. yes, removing them supposedly reduces MPG. AND EVEN THEN, you have people online that "got rear ended" and removed rear bumper, and the rear wheel covers, and there was 0 change in MPG.... its all bullshit. AERODYNAMICS for the sake of miles per gallon is a lie. period. now you might argue "well im going to the track, and I want to stick to the track" brother not a single production car in the lower price range has aerodynamics meant for racing. not one. get over yourself. aerodynamics are a poor excuse for how ugly modern cars are....

What makes is great-everything

I love galant, everytime i saw one park on the side of the road i stop for a moment and look on it.
