Bonafide JDM legends on episode 8 of Gone But Not Forgotten where we get behind the wheel of the Mitsubishi Lancer & Cedia. The Cedia was editor Sirish Chandran’s first rally car and he recalls his early years rallying the Group N Cedia with plenty of old photographs and some grainy footage. The Lancer and Cedia also had the same base platform as the Evo sports cars and we talk about the chassis and handling excellence of these Mitsubishi cars and also analyse what made them so desirable. No other manufacturer had the motorsport roots and heritage of Mitsubishi and that’s what we recall in this special episode, and don’t forget to turn the volume up and listen to the fantastic exhaust on the red Cedia

Lancer has special place in my heart, it was the only "need for speed" (game) car I could see on our roads and I had the privilege to be driven in.

We had a Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 SLXd, bought in the year 2000, served us faithfully till the year 2015, when it was sold by us, not because it was worn out, but due to not being able to drive it on a regular basis. After the Lancer, many cars have come including a Volkswagen Jetta, Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Honda City, and recently a Jeep Compass. None of the later cars ever gave the feel of driving a Lancer, it was truly special. The steering, the Ride, the handling and braking dynamics, they were on a truly another level, even the interiors were very well made, the car though light in weight, felt solid, and not flimsy like the recent crop of Japanese cars. Even to this day, I miss my Lancer and cherish its memory.

My family owned a '99 Lancer and still own a '06 cedia . Was really surprised to see this video since there aren't many in RU-vid about the cedia.

Amazing video Evo India. I am a fan of Mitsubishi too. I bought a Pajero SFX last year, and man does that thing ooze character!! I had driven a Cedia before I purchased the Pajero. I loved the way the Cedia rode and handled but my heart was set on the Pajero. I think you guys should do a Gone but not forgotten episode on the Pajero next. It is safe to say that Mitsubishi sold legendary cars in India.

anyone who's grown up in the 90s would remember how big a deal Lancers used to be. Lancers with crazy doors, bodykits and paint jobs(shoutout to Autopsyche and their magazine advertisements) were dream cars for us who were growing up playing Need For Speed Underground and watching The Fast and the Furious.

wow, that Lancer is from a time when I started my engineering and the Cedia rolled out of assembly lines around the time I completed my engineering.. absolute nostalgia, history that is so close to heart..

Wow wow wow.... This series is not just an series, its poetry in motion, thanks evo for making it. When SC said kids will grow up driving all electric and we would just take these kind of cars on weekends, i felt and felt hard.
