I'm doing a similar one, ih 234, which ran a Mitsubishi K3D 3 cylinder Diesel. Your clutch and flywheel look a little bigger though, I forgot to disconnect the front driveshaft so I couldn't split it for like 3 hours (looked like it was already disconnected) but it wasn't 😬. At times like those I stop and pray, it never fails me, immediately after I noticed that front driveshaft. Video is very much appreciated 💯👍 Thank you
Taking the tractor part in the middle was a learning experience for sure ,especially when the clutch didn’t work the first time and I had to modify the throwout bearing shaft but in the end it’s worth it God always helps me and blesses the work of my hands
I’m working on the exact one mine is a Satoh beaver S370 2wd … I followed you all the way, and have had all the same issues except I had to replace the rings on the pistons. Now I’m up to the clutch, which was stuck. Got the clutch on eBay. No problem. Old clutch was frozen to the fly wheel. Got all that stuff off. Throw out bearing housing is seized in that shaft tube and I cannot get it to release or pull out or even budge seven days of PB blaster heat and pry. Not sure what to do. Bill. The dang throwout bearing housing is just frozen in there. Everything was rusted up in the bell housing when I opened it so I’m not surprised, but don’t know what to do considering dropping that midsection of the tractor and removing it to put it on the bench.
It may not be the throw up bearing, but rather the shaft that goes through the housing maybe stuck. You might try applying some heat with a propane, torch and some brute force persuasion. Good luck. On mine I had to take the tractor apart because my clutch was completely gone.
Do you know if the shaft comes out or if there is something that holds it in place? I am having trouble with my tractor and I thing the shaft is moving to much
Should the shaft that goes into the clutch be able to move sevral inches out ? My wife dumped the clutch hard when pto was ingaged, i now have no moving gears or pto. Clutch looks fine, if i manually push that shaft back into the tractor. I can spin the wheels. And pto. So im thinking maybe thats what broke.. any help wpuld be much appreciated 🙏
There’s a book on line with every single part listed and showing its assembly it does sound as if the shaft maybe snapped. The top of the transmission is easily accessible through the top gearshift assembly. From there you should be able to see and have access to the gears and shafts. Also check all the other levers
I purchased mine from eBay. Most clutch’s are the same measure the diameter and count the splines. Also, check the distance from the flywheel to the top of the pressure plate. What does vary from Tractor to tractor is the throw out bearings?
