Gamerip Audio from the Unicorn Overlord Demo. This song plays during the initial prologue battle with Ilena. I do not own this music, and all right belong to Vanillaware and Basiscape. Unicorn Overlord Soundtrack Unicorn Overlord Music
The theme of the game going full circle: the fall of a nation to restore another. It plays only twice in the game: Cornia's last stand against a rebellion to restore Zenoira, and Zenoira's last stand against a rebellion to restore Cornia.
@@blu6 me too! I think I remember seeing that the game surpassed the development teams’ sales expectations within a couple days, and that makes me so happy for them and that so many people picked up this awesome game
This theme is absolutely incredible. What a way to start the game. It perfectly conveys the feeling that even though she knows the situation is hopeless, she hasn’t given up.
>Starts playing demo "Alright, this Fire Emblem-like seems cool, especially since Vanillaware is working on it." >THIS plays, and I audibly make excited noises. This hits so GOOD.
I know this might be hard to hear, but Medieval tactical RPGs will always be Fire Emblem adjacent nowadays Especially considering how long Fire Emblem has been a series
@@gaspump the game full-on uses the character interactions that FE is famous for. There are definitely commonalities. The amount of players who got into strategy games with FE3H and moved onto this is crazy
Those first few moments do a great job of capturing what that siege must've been like to witness as one of the Cornian subjects. The horror of so many vast legions arrayed against the capital, followed by the queen herself exploding out of the castle with her royal retinue and effortlessly steamrolling through entire squads of enemy soldiers without so much as a scratch, directly toward the enemy commander. They'd be forgiven for mistakenly thinking she'd win.
Honestly the main reason why a lot of people see this as the final boss theme even though it plays in the first battle just has to do with the game taken 50 hours to beat and your much more to remember a song as the final boss theme than the prologue battle theme but having said that having it play at the end is fucking beautiful as the song makes you feel unstoppable and unlike the prologue if you know you’ve done everything you need for true ending than it’s true and it also makes sense with how it’s played for both cornian royalty fighting to protect what they care for
As I rode on my motorcycle, to work, I sort of forgot to turn off the "loop" function on my YT and ended up playing Ilenia's battle theme "Farde Mal Diavolo (Come, Foul Daemon)" for the entire duration of my ride. I felt like I was riding to off battle with motorcycle as my steed, the entire time I was on the road earlier. 😅😅😅😅😅
These comments give me life. I'll be listening to this on repeat as I drive to the gym today. (Thanks to the commenter in these comments who brought that little function to my attention)
I was concerned when Hitoshi Sakimoto was not the main composer for this game, but Mitsuhira Kaneda did a splendid job. Basiscape NEVER missed when they cook their tracks.
Thank you so much for putting this up! In case anyone is looking for the composer's name and is confused, his name is Mitsuhiro Kaneda, and he has been working with Hitoshi Sakimoto since at least Tactics Ogre, if not earlier. He, along with Masaharu Iwata have done the music for many a legendary series, including the Ogre Battle Saga, Final Fantasy Tactics and FFXII, Vagrant Story, Valkyria Chronicles, and all of Vanillaware's games. Special shoutout to Yoshimi Kudo, as well, who is a part of Basiscape and did a remix album for 13 Sentinels that is nothing but bangers.
This squad of composers is legendary. There isn't an album they worked on I have not kept in my phone. The ivalice alliance is still legendary in my books because of the music.
Exactly! I've loved every soundtrack this team has worked on. Their music helped build Vanillaware into the company it is today, too. I hope all of the hype I'm seeing around this game translates into big sales in the West. I'd love for more people to find their games. Who knows, maybe if it IS a huge success they'll finally port Odin Sphere, Muramasa, Dragon's Crown, and Grand Knights History to the Switch (and bring the latter to the West at last).
This song sounds like Keiichi Okabe had composed it, it has the vibe of the Nier franchise,The music in this game is beautiful, thank you vanillaware for such an incredible game.
I literally JUST fired the game up and entered the tutorial. Never played a game like this before but the artstyle intrigued me. This music immediatly & I stood up to find it here on RU-vid. And I gotta ask/Say: What the actual glorious fuck am I about to embark on?!
This bgm is gold truly make me feel like on the way to eliminate some Foul Daemon, and full of courage , no matter Daemon is strong and i will DECEASE. just like Ilena in the siege, with her steel mental still go out.
Oh my gosh, this is truly a masterpiece! I've never really touched a Vanillaware game before, but I know all their music is amazing e.g. Muramasa, Eternal Poison, Dragons Crown.. After hearing this one though, I really want to just break in and give them a try now !!
the most powerful emperor and general of a fallen kingdom with the power of a thousand souls backing their wicked strenght.... Alian: You spin me right round baby right round....
This song was kind of a trap because they put their best and only standout track as the first map theme and they never deliver again. I'm in Elfheim now and they still haven't given me anything at this quality.
An awesome intro song that gets you right into the vibe of the game! On another note, can anyone help me in figuring out what sorta of tango or salsa dance vibe it gives? I've been trying to figure that out since demo launch, ans I'm not too familiar with those kinds of genres.
Maybe a shot in the dark, but some of Xenogears' music was recorded by a Bulgarian women's choir, and searching for those yields similar results. Maybe try looking in that direction?
Ar Tonelico also has a lot of songs similar to this one (their names are like command prompts, EXEC_PURGER/ and METHOD_HYMELI/ are some that are pretty similar in epicness and tone) I believe they were an inspiration for the Nier games, which is pretty neat since we definitely need this type of game musix it's awesome
@@jayplays9976I just got the full version . No sakimoto work on this soundtrack , all basiscape member except Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata . Basiscape style really united
Or it's completely gibrish mix together to produce harmonious fake lyrics like Yuki Kaijura did (I think they dub this Kaijugo). I think they did it for brat overflow, The main theme of Aigis Rim, too.
Hmmmm, yep, there is a high chance of fake lyrics... I'll do a little more research. Are you enjoying the game?? They launched in Brazil only at 2AM, so I could play just a little bit this morning 😅
So, I've done some research and the artist that is singing and also wrote the lyrics is Eureka Republic. The song is written in a fictional language, but it seems to have a translation (I couldn't find or confirm though).
Hot take but I don't find the OST to be particularly amazing. This track; however, is. While other OSTs like P3R may be better on average, this one song is better than any other I've heard this year. I'm also always a sucker for playing the OP at the final fight and this does functionally the same thing.
Music is essentially a YMMV thing. If you don't think the OST is amazing then you're right. We are all entitled to our opinions about subjective matters and I have to agree with you on this one. To me the score is stellar and I've been listening to it on repeat. At the same time I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. However this tune is a banger.
