3. part of the German inline Cup in Koblenz, with the train from Koblenz to Oberwesel, and then skate back, nice route, perfect tarmac, and a special feeling with the part of 300m brickstones!
I am a beginner speed staker, your video is great and it motivated me :). Thanks a lot from Mexico. It's funny but yesterday I have my first great fall down and it still hurt jejejejeje.
Very exciting to watch! Tactically looks like problems at 22:45 when the guy in red/white let a gap open up and could not close it down. Did the peloton split because of having to pass the women's peloton?
Missix, both, when you put your hands on the back of the one in front of you it's to brake, and the the reason to stay behind others, or be on a line is because we stay closer than cyclists, and that means that we win a lot if we stay in the draft :)
Hi Jakob, it was ok, the worst was the first 13-15 km, after this we were a small group until we were catched by the larger pack, and after this it was just to follow them home:)
Arh, Jakob i didn't read your question correct:) my feets were ok, but when we hit the brickstones my feets fell a sleep:) and it took 500m after the brickstones before i had feeling again:)
I'm new to this, why do they put their hands on the back of the people in front of them? do they do that to prevent crashing or to get a better position out of the wind or..?
Hi It´s difficult to answer, the ones in the front uses a double push and the further I drop down the more people uses single push(power strides) :) Hope that explains
Just ordered Lugiono Strut 4x 110 and looking forward to the speedskating, question: i still wonder why you line up behind others i dont understand. Is it to reduce wind resistance ?
Yes, like cycling it reduces wind resistance, but since we don't have the wheels like cyclists we can stay closer meaning the draft is bigger, that is why speedskaters often have synchronized movements :)
And also in the Berlin Halfmarathon video from me! But no wories, I have had a good discussion with youtube, and since Hells Bells is so small part of the video it's allowed!
eyesofNOTHING No gel in the pants, and always skinsuits :) But otherwise it's same kind of skinsuits. The best ones I use at the moment is from Hunter :)
Hmm.. at that time I think I was skating on a pair of Bont Z. I switched shortly after to a pair of Simmons Racing stock boots. And today I use a custom Sierra from Sierra-shoes.com, with a Bont 7050 frame :)
You start with smaller wheels, if you start with 4x110 it's close to impossible to learn proper technique :) So use smaller wheels to get the boot closer to the ground :)
Hi, since I can't post links, on youtube, then google for "FIRS" - Federation International de Roller Sports - look under speed skating - regulations :)
