Aww im still listenin in 2017..the last baby deer is my baby boy who is 8 now❤ makes me miss home and my brothers..seeing them singing puts a lump in my throat.
Stunning, beautiful, majestic - I know I couldn’t identify all the animals represented but - just WOW! It is a great blessing to see the young ones learning the songs & dances.
I do have respect 4 all what I see here on RU-vid especially the native dances..I'm native publeo frm Laguna, New Mexico..I myself am very very traditional where I'm frm.. miss my home..n all the dancing..along with my people..I also have relatives n family n friends that r in Hopi..I'm living in Phoenix, az I really miss home..
the dance fills my eyes with tears and my heart with spirits who know they have not been forgotten, but wish to once again dance in harmony through the feet of men who live in harmony with the spirits of animals and men. soulbilbo
my Ancestors are Tewa for the Ysleta Pueblo del Sur. and I have to say that this is beautiful and the melody that the singers are singing is very peaceful to me. It soothes my souls and feeds it what it has been lacking. May the Great Creator bless you .
if the rest of the world could learn from you, and follow the ways you live...and do the things you do....then the world would not be destroyed....destroyed by the greed, the pollution, the divisions, the control, the hate, the violence and war..The ONLY WAY the world will not be destroyed, is if we get together as ONE people....and act as ONE people....doing all we need to in order to save the Earth for all future life to follow us.....If we can't get it together.....then the Earth...our only home...will be destroyed......The choice still is ours....If we wait any more.....then the choice will be made for us...As the Hopis say.."We need to open our eyes, or our eyes will be opened for us"...We really do not know how much longer we have left on this Earth......so we need to act as One, before it's too late for All.....
Hopi nation! So honored to share this life with all my brothers and sisters, and sharing with my brothers and sisters, also this life to! my creators are speaking to me today, thank you, love and peace to my ppl
no war just survival for mother earth. Only one Arrow an earth has given plenty of options from when the great flood happened which is the voice of the ancestors chanting for change. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

@ king monster This is so beautiful. thank you for reminding those hopis that don't live at home how to keep in touch with their culture. as long as it happens it has happened and will keep happenning. Some Hopi make it a point to call me friend :)
Thank you for posting this! Watching from UK. Would love to know more about where and why this ceremony takes place, and about the animals represented. Beautiful shadow against the wall at left of screen at 18:49.
Notice how , in the mix of all the wildlife, there is a Human Being dancer in there too....the Hunter.....wearing the blue shirt, and an arrow quiver on his back..... ..who carries a green tree branch.....He is leading all the dancers as they first come out to the plaza......This is to show the unity , of the Human Beings with the animals......We ARE also "animals " too.....truly, "mammals" , the same as are the bears, ( the only other one that can stand up on 2 legs) ...deer, pronghorn, coyote, puma, mouse, etc....We are not separate from them....our lives are deeply interconnected with theirs...
"no"....and your feeling sorrow, "sorry".... is your chioice, to "believe" what you want, but , the truth is, people and the animals are Connected.. as we are all direct reflections the Great Spirit.... We just have so many different ways of doing that.......@@tsee9013
When they get to dancing and that huge drum starts beating like a giant heart, you cross over into the spirit realm, I had the priviledge to see the Hopi dance at Taos....wow. I still remember it 50 years later.
Derrick Quimayousie Hiya, Just Sending You Acknowledgement Location is key, My Vision in Youth Still Imprinted With A.. Just thought I'd Share 🦋
this stuff it is, because there isn't really anything taboo about seeing it, but there are somethings that can't be shared like this. but those things you wouldn't ever really know of anyway, since we are kind of secretive about the stuff that isn't supposed to be shared.
I'm from n.m.grandparent and great great grandparents were from the area of Rio arriba.we owned the Gonzales ranch by Mineral springs rd.I believe I'm half native I wish I knew where I was from so so bad.If you have any ideas on how I can find out please let me know.
You have to track down birth and death certificates from relatives....look for amerind as race.....for clues look to where they were born and luved then compare to tribal enrollment records
How can I learn your lenguaje and the way of living ? My uncle was teaching me but he passed and here were I'm living there is no more people who want to teach,
To be completely honest, I suggest studying amongst them because their neighboring tribe the Navajo has one of (if not the hardest) language system out of all of the native Americans languages. There’s nothing better than getting your lessons straight from the source..
I have seen a moose...1 moose....traveling through the desert of Nevada......so perhaps one day, with global climate change changing everything....the moose will be part of the dance..Also, the jaguar has been seen returning to its old wandering places in the desert of the southwest, coming back from the south .....moving north from Mexico....so mabey it will also be included someday..................
So much for animal ethics. They are sure parading around with animal parts on them. Disgusting!! This is why I stopped being Pueblo. The culture needs to evolve with space and time.
its not a question of ethics........its a matter of respect , and understanding the connection we all share with all Life which is Sacred...The animals have always been there for us..Their Spirits are present in the Ceremony....and they are not offended, they feel honored and respected.....It is for them the Dance is done........Please leave your harsh judgments at the door, and open up your heart to the Beauty....if you miss it, you will be the sadder for it, so its better to be happy than sad.....Being sad or angry only makes you sick inside...You need to evolve your own understanding to be able to see and appreciate and give thanks for being part of one of the beautiful cultures to have ever existed on Earth......I am not a Pueblo person..(.in this lifetime), but I sure appreciate the Beauty they have and share with all of us..... ...The Dances are there for all People to understand how we are related to all Life....
