I am thankful for having all the people watching this dance. My older brother, my Vava, Steven, sponsored this dance; and I am very appreciative of what he has done for everyone, and for all families.
My father used to take us kids when we were young children to theses home dance. Im glad we k ew our culture from the Hopi side. I miss my father so much. But theses memories will always stay in my heart ❤ Thnk you Dad for everything 🙏
Reminds me of the dances in Laguna Pueblo. My brother and I would go to the plaza and sit on the wall to watch the Deer dances. Smell cedar and pinon burning from the homes and fresh oven bread and red chile stew. It be a cold day hearing the drums and singers. Miss those days.

Very cool to see! We Mexicans revere the Yaqui version of the deer dance. It’s a symbol of the Mexican state of Sonora which of course borders Arizona. The connection through the southwests people’s is real. Also fascinating is possibility that Aztec tribes (The Nahuas) where at some point connected with the Hopi if not their direct descendants. Aztec codices depict the Hopi nation and talk about how the snake tribe separated from the Hopi at one point going south. Our connectivity is bigger than we know! Much respect!
@@thickbrianqyou’re pretty ignorant. Hopi speak a dialect of Uto-Aztecsn language. Their language is similar to Nahuatl. Learn history before you shoot your uneducated mouth off.
I have just seen this video, it's absolutely beautiful 😍 keep the tradition going. All my love and respect to you all from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤. Thank you for sharing this

Theirs a Boy/Girls Group in Texas, I seen at a convention that was copying these dance… the “white” guy leading it apparently told the crowd he’s been to the pueblos and was granted access to dances on RU-vid, the group was buying artifacts and had the students wearing them, I grew with elders saying “Be careful, don’t try to do things you understand because you’ll make your self sick…”

So sacred and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I was on Hopi lands 30 years ago and a kind Hopi girl chatted to us and showed us a mesa. Greetings from the UK.
fun fact for my white relatives. Irish people were tribal people just like us indigenous. everything they did was to honor the tree of life. hau hecetu 🙌
I believe the Irish came from the tribal Celtic people. Celts and Natives had similarities. If you read history of the Irish, their history mirrors Natives very closely. From being colonized by the British, the catholic church trying to rid both people of their culture, language, names. Even Irish kids were taken by their parents and forced into boarding schools where they were treated brutally, just like what the Natives went through.
I'm wondering about when they were learning the whole dance, so that they are in sync... My guess is the Deer exists plentiful, because of these manifestations...blessings
I love this thanks for sharing we are all one nation god bless you all much love n respect your songs we’re beautiful and made me cry in a good way thank A’ho 💯🙏🏽💋
These are rllly nice songs different from the ones that my step dad have sang to me and my little brother nd its nice to see our villages are finally opening up and letting us dance again
@@Flockseahawks123 dawg what? who gave you that history? navajos and apaches didnt come down to our lands until around the spanish came. and they hardly “helped” our villages lol
Are they dancing for the pahan holiday ? (New Years). If so they should stop. Seems like a new trend. Also Treat it like the katsinam and stop posting, protect it.
Exactly! Traditionally the Hopi dances are only to be filmed by other Hopi family members and are not to be shared as they are here on youtube. My husband is Hopi, our daughter half and even when she dances only family are allowed to film. Any films or photos are not to be widely shared as they are here. As he stated, many *true* Hopi traditions are no longer respected and followed. Many traditional elders disapprove of how the young ones do as they wish despite what is traditionally accepted and permitted.
@@elishevacapobianco-s1960 But other people that are not native we can share our culture to them it's not going to harm anyone they just want to see how our culture works some might have different stuff
Some hopi share culture, others don't and not every Hopi agrees about culture or their own prophecy. I have friends on Hopi land, Jamie T the Double Snake warrior, the flowering Yucca Top is my friend, I've cleaned up trash, given seeds and earth to the Tuts permaculture program, cleaned out water holes, eaten the leftover popcorn from your dance ceremony.

I’m not going to lie to anybody but I have been in Hopi 47 times and I am very happy to be there for the dances I love it when people sing their songs.
A great cultural event. All the wonderful aspects of Hopi culture in a dance to preserve the old knowledge language identity. This is more value than all the lip service you get from" brands "being nice to Native American Tribal leaders now.
I’m thankful for the good blessings that Hopi has for the world and thank you for that compliment I appreciate it I love to sing In the morning and night so the world can be blessed with good spirits not bad spirits I wish all of you have happy days and happy birthdays also have all of you bin to Hopi?

What an amazing opportunity for the children of the Hopi people to know the songs, dances, and the beautiful stories of their ancestors. That's one thing I wished I could have known with my tribe, I can not even speak the Chickasaw language. Everything was taken away from my father language, songs, dance everything, once he was placed in the boarding school. Thank you for the amazing Deer dance.

Got a question?? How does one get to see this in person? Good cultural exchange fom the longhouse people in New York. Keep it goin for the next generations
its cause the spirit needs to live, let those who have forgotten, hear and see this, to remember it again...join others in song and dance. if not out loud or in motion, in that true spirit that brings us together, help teach those young ones.
This is super cool I've never seen anything like this it's not like my culture type of but the crown dancers remind me of this but this is super cool thank u for sharing
I was blessed to Walpi, Shungopavi, Polacca, and travel to Isleta to attend the eagle dances with my Bops and my Qaaca' when I was a kid. I'm from Idaho so the culture was different then Nimiipuu back home, but I enjoyed every moment with my Grandpa and Grandma Mahle!
I love singing to you and your family and kind of Jesus Christ and it is so much fun to be with us and kind ❤️❤️ to be with you for your songs love micca
absolutely marvelous dancing. Such a peaceful time . Each time I watch a pow-wow I am blessed by the dancing and watching the little ones growing up to carry on the traditions
When I was four in the 70s I sat on a roof on one of those villages starting with an s. It was a snake dance. My mom took me there& and there a pretty amazing story. In the 80s I lived in keams for a short time then to Jeddito. I have fond memories of going to school with Hopi & Navajo friends. I don't know how this came to this phone but Thankyou ❤
Amazimg dance and singing! It put me goose flesh. I love this although I do not underestand. Thank you very much to the Hopi nation! Greetings from Argentina
All of these dances remind of my beautiful grandmother who was around me for a very long time and brought me up in my traditional music and knowing that are tribe are very good people I am hoping and I love hearing the drums and dancers
Deer antler has to held in back to demonstrate the hey can dance away. Mask has to be sideways to be seen no other. Dressing is 100% to the core. No sitting when Man are showing skin. Everyone stay standing up. You have no hails then sing away together. Love, Miss Angel Gutierrez
As for having a teacher , to understand different languages with God's mercy Try to understand mercy I was given Sunrise, was Deer hunting I can give deep thoughts Speak for myself. Blessing , this word has different meanings to others. Received blessing, Many times, not say a word to any man or woman Received great blessing on a personal experience to know as asking a Father yes he listened. This dance to me personal by each one there need for others not asking for gain.. As one to feed his family, others to share.. away to give thanks to those animals to give their lives their ways is guided . Being grateful for its life. the dance of the deer. As to give respect .. Give thought to whom they are asking .I listen to, very grateful people deep and so personal. If I said thing out of line Not said hurtful.. On that cold morning Sun light its warmth Touching the very tops of the trees, the frozen top pops and cracks as the sun slowly Came up. The sound was moving could follow as it movement . The warmth touches the earth Without God's helping me to understand His blessings, an mercy
Osiyo ,“Our conversation with the Federal Gov. to Free Native American Political Prisoner Leonard Peltier who’s been falsely imprisoned going on half a century and to honor the Indian Treaties (pre-constitutional law) forming the basis of our great nation was almost entirely redacted on national TV shortly before the insurrection because it demanded that the then President also relinquish the nuclear codes which has never been done. Oct. 2020 I spoke with at least around a dozen federal agents including the FBI and even the US Navy. Trump says before being elected, “We have nuclear weapons so why can’t we use them?” Nancy Pelosi confirmed to our international audience on national TV that indeed they where removing the nuclear codes with the help of the CIA and if anyone has any questions they could just call up and ask. What followed only confirms nuclear tensions where about to explode. The redaction is worth at the minimum trillion$ more than all moneys because with nuclear war lights out! Nothing! This simultaneously addressed the other largest nuclear power and all the rest without having to address any of them directly except our own.”
