I just want to take the time to thank you. Not many composers of your accomplished level would take so much time to put out such extensive tutorials. Great work, Tom.

This is incredible. I'm forced to accept that I waste a lot of time by not having thorough templates and ergonomics

Good grief - that's insane, but amazing. I hope you'll go in to a bit of detail with your experiences with computer performance as well and how to get the best out of what you have. Thanks for doing these!

I was wondering... what are the specs of your computer system Sir? To be able to handle all these tracks. Thanks.

First of all, I thank you immensely for these absolute golden tutorials you are making for free. You are an amazing human being Tom Holkenborg! :) I have a technical question and it’d be a great help if you can shed some more light on it. Do you have separate FX channels for each of your stem groups? Or do you deliver dry stems and one master FX (reverb/delay/doubler) stem?

Tom, can you elaborate on your group outputs? You mention "quads" in a few videos, and I'm not clear on that. Are you using 5.1 with no center and sub?

This is great! :) Thank you for sharing your time to present this to the world! I have just one question. How match time you spent building you template. I suppose that it's constantly evolving but what you think how many ours you would spent if you need to build it from ground up! Thanks once again

To those who've commented on the size of his template. I'd imagine that's his master template, and per project he reduces as needed.

Tom ,groetjes uit den haag. love what you do but more than 1200 (twelvehundred !)tracks in an single project template.... It's madness ! You mensioned you record in cubase and bounce it back to protools to mix it there. Is that because cubase contains more midifunctionality (wich the likes as protools or nuendo are missing )or is it because protools sounds better ? Do rtas plugins sound better anyway than vst's ?Or is protools more compatible with your gamemusicsoftware and routine's Your video's raise more questions than they answer but keep on publishin since I love to see how other producers work ! But twelvehundred tracks? You got a serious trackaddiction bro ! But that's why they call you Junkie XL I asume.....

A fellow Dutchie here, 1200 tracks is fairly normal for film/media-composers. I know people that are just writing tracks for libraries in their bedroom with 2500+ tracks templates, multiple slaves, yeah... Madness haha.

As far as I know Tom never tells us a specific touchscreen app that will do the things his does. Mark W Roberts mentioned Metagrid for iOS in his comment: big thank you for that! I knew about Lemur but wasn't sure it could do all these things easily. It can! Search RU-vid for "Lemur/Cubase Template Tutorial Video" and also "Controlling Cubase Track Visibility Using Lemur". I also plan to look at Metagrid and any other good recommendations people have.

I think he talks about it in Episode 8. and a little in Episode 4.

Sorry for the late reply, the specific touch screen app that he uses is an in-house program in Remote Control Productions. It's a proprietary software.

1700+ VSTs preloaded into your session. WTF!!! I might have a total of 150 saved into my Ableton template. lol
@TheQxY

I don't understand why you have alle those channels readily loaded into your template. Why wouldn't you just import the channels you need for the specific project you're working on?
@michaelbauers8800

Wouldn't that take a really long time to figure out what he wants? He's scoring entire movies, so he probably finds it easier to access everything

It’s so annoying when he keeps saying “We will get to it later”, and “more about that later”. Unnecessary and disorganized speech.
