the mid button on the clipper is not a sidechain filter - it actually causes the clipper to work only on the mid signal and leave the sides alone. luca explains this in the recent video of him demonstrating the plugin.
How did I miss this Episode!? Hint: I didn't get a notification. Great review/overview, I got this update for free and I'm loving it!... You guys should demo the next Acustica with a song of yours truly! (as long as you don't mind listening to bad english with a latin accent) :) Love your show. Always makes my day!
That completely depends on the mic/pre character and what went in on the print, not to me too. The voice. On dynamics it will usually be Pink4. Sometimes with the pink compressor, other times with EL Arouser or UAD distressor depending on the density of the mix. On condensers either Timp’s LA2A, Or Shadow Hills for comp. Sometimes NAVY is just right. Then for eq I will lean on Magenta, Ruby, Opal or occasionally Gold. Ruby often finishes the chain. However if I want only one plug in that will always work, it’s coffee, viridian, camel and sometimes cream. Ultramarine on certain days of the week. It really depends. If it’s a coloured print, I want a cleaner process. But if the input is uncoloured, the grungier plugins come out. If I can’t get there with a simple chain sometimes PA’s Black Box brings it home. Bet that helped :-P
Thanks a lot I like the clean vocal ,I have the Tlm 103 tuning into the Avalon 737 and neves1073 Uad , then I used the water and mangenta for eq into clb 1 and magic death eye compressor and finished it off with the Uad studder for saturation I’m not getting the result I want I think it because of the neves 1073 causing it to sound a Lil distorted ,or maybe I’m recording to hit
@@brianwynn10 the TLM103 is a difficult mic because the mid-top end is a little hyped and doesn't take compression too well as a result. The bottom end is very wooly and needs a lot of clean up. Which is too bad because it runs hot and is nearly noiseless. That mic is often at its best at a generous distance - less proximity, less sibilance, great detailed capture. Neve Preamps really help it change character. I would shy away from the 1073 and maybe try the UAD 1081 or the equivalent in gold- that extra band gives you a few more choices. Your chain - after the Avalon - builds up a lot of dirt quick. I find the 103 doesn't like tube paths so maybe swap out that TubeTech for something not so mid-forward. Anyway I'm clutching at straws but I know that mic pretty well so when you say you're not getting the result you want, exactly what are you not getting right now?
Thanks soooo much ,for that very detail message ,what microphone would you recommend to get a nice top end airy clean crisp sound with the chain I have ,also my vocal have like a plastic sound to it,seem to lack the true sound of my voice ,when I adjust the eqs,I get a mid range heavy vocal or a , have a dry dull plastic vocal
@@brianwynn10 hard to say. Drop a note at info@mixorcist.com if you want to shoot us some pre and post-processing examples of your vocal tracks. We’d be happy to have a listen Send via we transfer or Dropbox link etc. Maybe we can help.
History of Horror is great! I just watched Channel Zero season 4, and that was really good! DUDES....did you see Possessor yet?! If not, you absolutely have to. It’s amazing.
Thank you for that - adding it to my list. Was about to hit ‘Army of the Dead’. Thinking 2.5 hours is a lot of exploding heads....appreciate your support my man!
@@BadassAgile I’m so sorry! I’m a huge huge fan of so much horror, and I loved his remake of Dawn Of the Dead...definitely gives me no pleasure to tell you that I didn’t like this one...Based on the stuff you’ve talked about, I think you might have the same reaction 😜
Not saying it’s better. Just different. It has a vibe and it’s easy to use. If that appeals, you should trial it. You might like what it does. If you want more control or a different sound...It may not float your boat. Thanks for checking us out!
@@BadassAgile I actually have it and i like it on mix bus sometimes. Although i didnt realize it was just an eq and compressor. But i guess the vibe is in the particular eq and compresor. So its not just "any eq and compressor"
I wonder why no one here thinks about simple things? :1) Volume comparisons. 2) Do these adults hear anything Objective in SONY headphones? As a result, they make the sound very sharp and loud. Plus there are a lot of conversations because of which the audio constantly “jumps” in volume. Very bad video.
You realize there's a 30-day trial, right? To me, their opinions are more useful than hearing everything in detail, because I can hear it for myself much more easily just by trialing it.
