One of your best videos. I'm a 2 wedge T20 wedge player ( 56/14 bent to 52/10 and 56/10 bent to 57/11) and I love these new Mizuno wedge offerings. My order will be Denim Copper 54 D-grind, bent to 53 (I do a lot of chipping with this loft range and I want some heel and toe relief), and then a 58 X-grind, bent to 59. I'm also a current Taylormade Hi-Toe ATV grind 60-wedge, bent to 62, but I want to drop a wedge and add a long club, so this new X-grind at 59, looks perfect.
I got Cleveland RTX Zipcore wedges last year; only used them five rounds. I resently had an iron fitting, so I tested eight different wedge brands, and the T22's out spun them all. Second place wasn't even close(500rpm more). I placed an order for two wedges in Satin on the spot. 54/12S & 58/08D.
thanks for the excellent review! can you hit full shots with some forgiveness with that x grind? definately intrigued by that grind and versatility of the club.
You can definitely swing full with the X grind! It will be better for a steep attack angle or perhaps on softer conditions. But ultimately it's more functional when manipulating the face for a short game shot. If you are a shallow swinger, it will require more precision on a full swing
Another interesting review. We can only carry so many wedges! How would these compare to the recent OEM releases, as well, compare to the E series Mizuno wedges & performance?
Great review of these T 22 wedges..Suggestion...when you hit the shot from behind the player keep the camera there cause when you switch it to the side view..can not see the full approach shot...Thanks.....
Sounds like a golfer like me (1st year with 22 handicap, but with potential) might want an S grind for the gap wedge and D grind for the 56 and 60 wedges? Guess I will find out when fitted.
Big issue with the new Mizuno JPX 923 is the PW is 42.5° and the GW is 48°. I'm used to playing 52/56/60. Can't quite get myself to move to 5 WEDGES?? Mizuno Suggestion is 42.5°/48°/54°/60°. Gaps stretch out to 6° between all the wedges then.
With the suggestion Mizuno does suggest 4 from 42.4 to 60*. I understand the concern of 6*. I have played 6* gaps in my wedges for a season (47*, 53* 59*) but ultimately went back to gapping with closer lofts. If you can develop a clock system it can help but 5 wedges is a lot - Thomas

why aren't all of the grind/finish options available in left-handed? it's kind of ridiculous to me that these companies can't understand how to scale production down for a fraction of the golfing population
They both feel soft off the face. The T22 is sleeker at appearance the Full Toe is unique and can help out of touchy lies around the green and in the sand. Both look very different. - Thomas
Really pretty Wedges from Mizuno, particularly in the denim copper finish❤ Being picky I would also like to see them offer a "full toe" version in the higher lofts, but I can see that upsetting some Mizuno purists
Taylormade make exactly what you describe. I have a 60 degree and it has been really good. I have a couple of Mizuno wedges and absolutely love them. If you want a high toe maybe get the Taylormade high toe
It would still be the D grind for the T22. A little more bounce with moderate heel and toe relief. The C grind is more for firmer conditions, S grind has minimal sole grinds and X is closer to a vokey M Grind - Thomas
