MIZUNO WAVE REBELLION PRO 2: Even More Aggressive Than Before! 

I'm a 25 minute parkrunner. Mizuno had a "try it" day at one of our runs. I thought the shoe was fantastic, even at paces of 5 to 6 minutes per km. The shoe is great for slower runners. Don't be put off by the thought of it only suiting 2:30 marathoners.

would love to try this shoe. to me the shape makes sense. Why so much padding on the heel of most shoes when a lot of runners don't even land there.

I run 1:50min half marathons (nowhere near elite) and this shoe feels perfect for me. It protects the legs and gives incredible energy feedback. The only thing it's bad for is walking ;)

I know this is contrary.. I am a heel striker and slow runner.. (senior..) but I just love the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1. Like you I have it in the Black/White.. I run at around 6 min per km long 20k runs in them and they are the most comfortable and protective shoe I have. Legs fresh the next day. The bounce and rocker are very energy saving.. I was afraid it will be a disaster like my Alphafly V1 because of the heel striker but there is NO heel so no problem. I land midfoot 🤔. I saw the developer of the line and he said that the new Wave Rebellion Flash has the geometry of the Wave Rebellion Pro V1.. So I guess I will try that one once it's out..

I got my Marathon PB in the rebellion pro last November in New York, looking forward to trying the new flash (which will likely suit me and based on the same tech)

going to run my first half marathon this spring, going for 1:45. I need a new pair of running shoes. any tips for looking at running shoes or suggestions?

Is the drop difference between the two models noticable? From 5mm to 1.5mm is a big change.. thanks

Ive never ran a marathon before ive ran a HM in the pro 1s in 1:21, ive my first marathon in april and ive picked up the pro 2s and did 7 miles yesterday and they are fast! 6:20 miles. Would you say to give them a go or try something else?

How is the sizing? I had to go up half a size in the first iteration.

Not an elite runner by any stretch but i got a 20 min Marathon PB in the first version. Maybe they aren't supposed to be for "slow" runners but i love my pair.

This is between Strung X1 and Alphafly 3

I ran in demo shoes during a Mizuno event in Austin, TX in December 2023. I am not an elite runner. I consider myself mid-pack runner in my age group. That said, I don't agree with the Mizuno marketing. This shoe (Wave Rebellion Pro 2) is quite democratic, and I felt I was getting quite efficient ride vs many of other carbon plated shoes. Personally, I got Alphafly 1 style bounce and efficiency. So, discard the marketing and get this shoe (WRP2). One thing that is not discussed: The heel counter is gone from v1 to v2. There was a bit of heel slip for me which could be fixed by runners' loop lacing. Also I got tight calves after running in these shoes. The drop is even less in this shoe vs v1. So, just like zero drop shoes the calf muscles are working hard so this shoe will require strong calves for longer mile usage.

Would you use again for a marathon?

Super good video 👍💪😀. Really nice to have a RU-vidr who is not a turtle like many of us 🫣 And who are able to test the shoes for which they are built. And let's be honest, almost all carbon shoes are built to run fast. And not to run a marathon of 3 - 4 hours. Put another way, the dream of all supershoes is to get under two hours. And without me being anywhere near your level. So my experience is that the shoes change quite a bit depending on the speed. The faster you are able to run, the more you get out of a pair of carbon shoes.
