How you fixed the wings is how i always do mine on 1/72 kits. Even if the instructions say fix the tops before fixing the wing to the fuselage i always fix the bottom and then fit the tops making sure the wing root is right as you can adjust and shape the rest after which is a lot easier than trying to mess with the wing root. I see loads of modellers fit the tops to the bottoms then spend ages messing fitting the whole thing to the fuselage filling the gaps etc
Loving this series - thanks for taking the time to document your process. Regarding wingtips, I’m quite partial to the extended, high altitude ones on the Spit.
Great series of videos. You really go into detail on how you build. May I ask, in the long-term doesn't the aluminium tend to dull off, maybe a coat of Matt Lacquer might help. Regards, Dave Porter
Yes it does dull off, but you can polish it up with care. I rather like the dull look though. Lacquer tends to make it look like paint so I try and avoid it.
