Titanium is also VERY BRITTLE. A metal's usefulness as armor isn't just dependent on hardness alone. The titanium used in MJOLNIR armor most likely has some softer metal like steel added to it.

For my armor composite that I theorize would work on a real suit of mjolnir I used your titanium 50 but I added a 1/8 inch composite that consisted of bilayer graphene that was separated by gold leaf sheets. When stacked in a bilayer configuration graphene will briefly become as hard as diamond when exposed to a large impact.

It's mind-blowing to learn how the GEN3 armor suit represents the pinnacle of MJOLNIR armor technology featuring the best of GEN1, GEN2, SPI & ODST's VISR combined. Not only it's built like a lightweight tank being more resilient to ballistic & energy weapons than previous generations, but also being surprisingly "stealthy", tactically & strategically more capable, and being incredibly smart with BIOS, health & armor monitoring, counterintrusion program & "survival mode" integrated into the armor system

Maybe the microgravity in the forging of the armor plates is used to eliminate any bubbles/imperfections in the crystalline structure that would make the plates weaker. It's most likely using microgravity to remove a variable in production. The ultrasonic treatment looks like it was used to remove a crust layer on the armor that is less dense than the optimized alloy.

Imagine the day a Spartan retires and has to turn his armor in. Then has to wear normal clothes. Normal senses, pooping themselves, not being temperature controlled. Needing to do everything on their own. That is a big incentive to not retire. I can only imagine how dependent a Spartan would become relying on this armor for everyday things.

They are educated to a college-level at least in physics and math and science, etcetera, so that they are even more effective at using the highly technologically advanced Mjolnir armor. Sure, you could stick a strong guy in this strong armor, and have him punch things... But imagine how much more effective they could be if they could creatively calculate outcomes based on what they know their equipment is capable of? The HUD only shows this kind of thing in the games because human neural interfaces haven't been perfected and widely adopted yet. If I was wearing a suit I wouldn't want anything on the HUD that didn't absolutely have to be there. As it would be a distraction. I would imagine that AIs would be able to detonate the fusion reactors in the suit, but so far I think Chief is the only one that's actually had an AI inside his suit

The logs you can find in the campaign confirm all the Spartans now have an ai(of course not nearly as smart as Cortana/the weapon) but nonetheless they’re there. BUTT I’m game dialogue also confirms that if the spartan dies so does the ai in a way

That skinsuit creates the superhero problem of overheating. You have a person who uses more energy per second at sometimes a magnitude or more of the energy of normal humans but lack any additional cooling. The skinsuit would require a very sophisticated cooling system. In fact that might not be enough as the cold required to keep something like the MC from overheating could just freeze the skin. It might be necessary for a few connections to the bloodvessles and letting blood flow freely between the skinsuit and body, allowing the skinsuit to cool off the blood more directly and also perhaps store some extra over time to help save the Spartan if he's injured. It could also support the heart by pumping should the heart be compromised somehow (and the heart not broken and heamorraging).

Wasn't the gel lair designed to solve this issue?
@TheDemigans
@TheDemigans 8 месяцев назад
@@01eksii 1: no, its designed to absorb and disperse heat from weapons. 2: I literally explain that whatever cooling you put on there, if it is just on the skin than it might need to freeze it. So I propose an alternative: connect blood vessels to the suit and cool the blood directly. It means you can add the surface area of all tubes entering the suit to your total cooling.

Eh better than any baggy realistic stuff plus it's 500 hairs in the future it would be boring to have baggy androgynous modern military crap on Spartans
@TheDemigans
@TheDemigans 8 месяцев назад
@@jackdeviluke3969 the point of these Halo breakdowns is to show the depth and add realism to Halo lore. Unfortunately some things aren’t realistic. But the point is: they could be. In this case instead of just a skinsuit, the suit is directly linked to the cardiovascular system and can cool the blood directly. It would also mean easy access for stimulants, nutrients directly in the bloodstream, filtering toxins, filtering and recycling waste, supporting the organs functions. Its a simple addition that helps make the Mjolnir suits far more realistic and useful. Why does the MC never go to the toilet or need to eat? Well because his suit is filtering the waste directly from his bloodstream (means less blood needed to go to the kidneys) and and processing it using the energy from his suit. This means he can stay alive without food for much longer, if not almost indefinitely, depending on how efficient the recycling process is. On top of the cooling and all the other things it could then realistically do. Hey you lost blood in the last attack? Well the suit has stored some of your blood over time and is now injecting it.

One thing I've always wondered, since we never see Chief eat or drink. Does the armor have like a built in canteen or water unit, with a hose that connects to the helmet like a camelbak or something? I mean. I get that its a fps but even in most other games you see a canteen or something on the body armor or backpack or whatever. And being in the Marines, they push hydration. They could care less if you're eating enough, but you better be drinking water! And Chief is still human. A super modified human, but a human none the less.
@BattlesuitExcalibur
@BattlesuitExcalibur 2 года назад
One of the things being looked at on the research side of exoskeletons is how powered support offsets the metabolic requirements of the human body. Dehydration is a side effect of exertion, brought on by higher blood flow rates pushing water out through the urinary tract as well as sweating. If the suit plays a significant role in reducing loads (thereby allowing heavier combat loads to be lifted, or an average load carried for longer), the operator can go for longer on a small supply of water. Not to say water is unnecessary, but a water supply integrated into the armor carries less than a camelback anyway.
@BattlesuitExcalibur
@BattlesuitExcalibur 2 года назад
A refillable water bladder under the chest plate might be more accessible (for serviceability and refilling), and routing the drinking tube up to the mouth would become trivial.
@SteveVi0lence
@SteveVi0lence 2 года назад
The suit filters fuilds and recycles it
@BattlesuitExcalibur
@BattlesuitExcalibur 2 года назад
@@SteveVi0lence I keep hearing this..... Recycling urine is not nearly enough water to satisfy hydration needs. Humans excrete less water than they drink, because most of it is stored in body cells (hence the function of hydration).

I vaguely remember one of the proposed upgrades to Mark 7 being a cryo survival mode, so I was pleased to see it's inclusion. Course, another of those updates was a Micro-Slipspace drive to allow the armor to teleport without needing to hijack a Halo Ring's teleportation grid, it would be fun if that was included at some later date perhaps in a further update of the Mjolnir Gen 3 platform (though for gameplay reasons it would need to be limited to avoid making other abilities and vehicles redundant, perhaps only used as a backup option for traveling during the story due to extreme power draw or risk)
