Hey guys! I'm the owner of this mark II. To answer some questions: I put 245s on it on purpose. I don't drift or anything so I went for cornering ability. 2JZ yes.... Near future. The muffler is coming off soon have the stock one in my garage. I didn't put that one on that's how it came. Thanks all for the great comments!

I just bought a 1990 MK3 (7M-GTE) for $2500, with a clean title and no rust. It's currently being pulled apart in my garage for a mad rebuild...but yeah, the deals are out there. Just have to be patient and grab it when it shows up. Also it helps to have the cash ready to go. :D

I've been driving a Celica Supra an 85 model from 2000 to 2016 and that car is one of the most fun cars ever! in the rain you can drop it and drift around any Corner flawlessly it is balanced for performance a 5 speed on this car is Unstoppable! I have out dragged all kinds of cars and when it comes to weaving through traffic it will pass higher horsepower cars easily. do not underestimate this car it is built to last just add oil.
@ttamage
@ttamage 7 лет назад
if you know how to drive a car it is very fun to drive normally I drift around corners until I'm going about 70 and passing everyone. if you review the Toyota Supra with an automatic transmission your complete hack you did not give this car any benefit of the doubt a manual transmission is the way to go.

I give respect to both of you guys!! Everything yuns said was 100% facts I still have my 1985 Celica Supra type “P” and drive it daily. The best car I’ve ever owned. I will never get rid of it, I wish this guy drove the 85 type “P” instead of the 82 because the 82 of course had less horsepower and torque. The 85 type “P” had 170hp and 174lbft torque. And overall that’s pretty good power in a small car

@@monkey__troller246 I own an 85 p-type as well and i do agree with you on that. When my car was purchased from the dealership it was ordered with an automatic though the automatic was for the l-type. With the lsd it grips really well and if you want to go sideways just rip the emergency break.

There's something about these cars. They never get old. I've never owned one, but I have driven one and despite the lack of pure power, it's still a delightful car to drive. It's more about the entire experience rather than the power or performance. This car is the perfect precursor to the Supras that subsequently came after. Glad you guys drove it. If you're looking for someone to drive cars in Eastern Ontario or to contribute to the channel, I would love to contribute. Great reviews. I'm only discovering you guys now.

I just sold my beloved mk2 of 7 years.... miss that car immensely and its only been a month. I will say the mk2's are far far funner in manual, they feel a good bit quicker then they really are. Plus 84 to 86.5 mk2's got 161 hp

mad props to you bro. I am glad some one is giving these cars some spot light. until 2 years ago i drove a 1980 toyota corolla sr-5 lift back with a 3tc 4 cylinder motor. The bodies on these cars are almost the same. the car had alot of miles on it. i can't say how many cause the speedometer broke and read 76,000. Side note on that. That was back when they would roll over at a 100k. But any way to get on point. the car was a absolute dream to drive. You could truly push the car to its limits around turns and it would just stick. and heck even out handle alot of newer cars. Sure it did not have alot of power. but who needs it when you can have so much fun in it. there is actually a video on my channel. called the my first car contest entry. and it shows my old corolla. Sorry for the long post. but i just love these little cars.

This was my first car. It had some kick to it. On a straight line course, it would be toast vs. a muscle car like a Trans Am. But it got off the block well and the handling was tight. If you have or are now living in Austin, TX you are familiar with 2222. When I had the Supra, I used that that road as a LeMans course once or twice.

I like the review. these cars are indeed fun to drive. And because of the fact that they're not that heavy makes it a cool sleeper when you add a 2JZ or properly done 7M for that matter. I think it's worth it to do a review on a properly done MK2 custom turbo car. That would be awesome.

Back in the 80’s, 79 Celica hatchback was my first car I fell in love with. Then I sold it then bought a 83 celica which I later sold it. I miss both cars but I would love to get hands on one of these. I’m almost retired and have free time and cash:). I been looking for a Supra like this or late 70’s Celica! What surprises me the most is how many these cars are driven and restored on the RU-vid but never see out in the roads (Texas)! This car would take me back in time! Btw, you can’t find a decent Supra like yours for 2k. Try 15-20k here in U.S.

I have always liked the looks of these, and there is just something about that high-mounted hatch spoiler that I just love! Suggestions for future episodes? I have a few: have you guys ever done a Mitsubishi Starion? That's one of my favorite eighties cars, and also the Porsche 944 turbo. I also really like the Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3 16 and Saab 900 turbo. Have you driven an Isuzu Impulse with handling by Lotus? The Peugeot 505 turbo is also a long forgotten French treat. As for 90s cars, try a Toyota MR2 turbo (definitely under appreciated!) or a Subaru SVX. I am also a big fan of the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, but I'm guessing you probably tested one of those, already.

Sadly the hatch on mine is rusting pretty bad :c but I got not time to sand n fix it. But also I'm really happy there's a review on here of the AUTOMATIC transmission, cause the only reason I own mine was because the previous owner didn't want a automatic, which is great for me cause I can't stand traffic with a manual. Also its my cruising car so there's no need for all that power. AND I'm so happy mine has the digital dash, nothing beats jamming to some Future Funk and driving around town with that dashboard glow.

You need to drive a manual and get a look at a minter. Not this run down, rusted, automatic, blue interiored one (although I can appreciate a blue interior, I don't think you do). I recently sold mine, but you can still check out my vids of it on my channel. Please revisit this car. Also, I've never heard that the seats have anything to do with Recaro. These are proper Toyota manufactured seats. Best sports seats in its class and era. The 4th gen Celica had an electric version. Recommend viewing EverydayDriver's Fastblast review of the car too.

I purchased a brand New 1983 Toyota Supra with a 5 speed gearbox. Mine was New & Fast as any BMW at the time & I also owned a 1986 325es but liked the Supra better. My Supra had every available option you could order. The car was extremely comfortable but on hard corners the rear end as all Supras do tend to slide as there is no weight at all back there. Fold the back seat down & you have tons of cargo space. I often wonder what happened to all these cars because quite a few were made & the base model Celica came with a 4 cylinder engine. Out of the 28 vehicles I have owned in my life I miss my 83 Supra the most. Back then we didn't have 1000hp street cars so yea this car was considered Fast for a street car in the 1980s. "Long Live The Supra"💛

I had one of these, an 82 supra...white with the terracotta co;or interior and killer seats.. when i say Killer seats , i mean they were aweful and Killed my back like no other seats ive ever had..looked nice with the big seat wings but the lumber was not oriented to help ur back, but instead destroy it.. u dont notice that they are bad right off but believe me, sit in them a few months and u will be crying for a chiropractor!.. i loved the look of that car, what a hunk,big solid beefy and masculine..slow by todays standards.. even my 94 probe gt would eat it alive...i noticed the lack of a timing cover, and God it looks so easy to do the timing belt on an engine where the belt is forward in the car instead of sideways... cool car, i miss mine, but dont think i would want it today anymore

Yes, I can agree with the part where you said Dry vs wet traction with 245s in the rear. In dry conditions, obviously, the 245 grips like a bitch on my Mk3 supra. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that during a small shower one day, I would not get traction. I pressed the throttle to around 3/4 of the way while turning and I hydroplaned the shit out of the car and slowly approached a tree perpendicular to the road. Lol. my car basically made a T in respect to the road. I hit the tree but shit, only left spider marks on the plastic bumpers. To be honest, the drift was pretty cool until I hit the tree xD

I had a 84 Mk2 with a lowered Bilstein suspension. It was a 5 speed manual, and automatic is a waste of time in that car. You had you have control of the gears to wring the most out of that car. That car was a lot of fun. It was very nicely balance and THRIVED on the mountain back roads. It was a very satisfying ride because you had to develop real driving skills to get the most out of it. Mechanically, it was bulletproof. The clutch took a real beating, but stayed strong. I will always love that car. If you a taller guy, I would pass on it. I think this car caused a bad problem because I had to put the seat at a steeper angle to un-wedge my head from the roof. I didn't care, it was a real drivers car.
