Pros and Cons of my MK7 GTI H&R Sport Springs after 5K miles. Things you must know before buying these springs. Social Media: Instagram: @jsmk7 SnapChat: @jsm1388 Music Credits: Acoustic Breeze - www.Bensound.com
I agree with @johnschwarz9639. Even though the cost of any set of lowering springs is deemed "lucrative", going through the install process is the same as replacing the shocks & struts. There isn't a need for full-on coilovers, unless your car is dedicated for the track. You drive on the street(s) 99.8% of the time, so keep it street. Bilstein B8s are an excellent choice with the lowering springs - a set-up such as that will do away with more of the "sway" you get when hard cornering. Otherwise, just going with lowering springs isn't doing anything but reducing ride height; as the stock shocks/struts do not compliment them. AND, if you want even better - upgrade the FCAs & ball joints + locking collars for the subframe since you're going to need an alignment anyway. Is it more costly? Sure, if you want better handling. But, if you are just wanting a "look", get the springs and don't expect performance.
Hi, I have already installed 15mm front spacers and 20mm back spacers and im about to install the sport H&R springs (1.3" drop) and im wondering, did you have any rub with the spacers and lowering springs with the stocks wheels?
Im debating on which H&R spring to get. Do u know for a fact that JR14 has the SUPER SPORTS? In his video he says super sports but also says 1.3 dtop all around.
I have a mk6 jetta SE automatic and im looking to buy these springs are these gonna make the car look stupid low? I want a low but not stuck on speed bump low
So, scary doing lane changes at high speed? How can you live with that? I have heard that from other people as well, and they went to other springs like eibach which corrected it.
jsmk7 That's what you said was the con in the video. "Scary" at high speed cornering at 3:20. Sorry you said cornering, not lane changes. But scary in cornering by itself would be enough for me to Nope out. Lowering springs are supposed to improve cornering not make it worse than stock.
+cuda2000 it's way better than stock cornering what I said was it's not as still as the springs I'm used to but yes they are softer than other brands out there
Bruh, you needed some caffeine before this one, haha you got such a more mellow tone or almost hungover tone going on in this one. Still a great vid lots of info, not hating. You should do a new update now that you've got a lot more time on them
