Samsora really refined his Joker counterplay which already did series work at Super Smash Con. Namely he commited even more to platform and air camping and used float to avoid getting chipped too much by Gun Special. Also I can’t help but feel that Bob-Omb pull in Game 3 empowered him and helped stay composed for the rest of the tourney. Lol

This was a very diverse cast of characters. Top 8 alone had 13 different characters (and about 18 if we also include the entirety of the 12 finalists). Additionally, the 4 people who made 13th also played unique characters. Agh...awesome.

JFishnets24 I totally agree, Shine 2019 was my first tournament I have ever been to and the experience compared to watching the sets on stream is so much better. I encourage anyone who can afford it and is at the very least nearby the next major event to attend. It’s just one of those events that you have to be there for to experience.

Darx Matter, that’s a dumbass take. To me and you it’s just a game, but to these top players this is their livelihoods. If they start playing like shit they get dropped from their teams and no longer have a consistent salary and won’t be able to go to more tournaments to get a small payout barely paying off your hotel room.

I saw his match in SmashCon and when MkLeo won i looked like all the spectators were angry and jealous at him and sad for samsora, and now that samsora won they seem to be very happy for him but at the same time they we screaming like they wanted to scrub Leo in the face that he had lost.

As someone who was in the crowd during this set, I can attest to the fact that these were some of the most hype and exciting matches in the tournament.
