If I had a memorable Blue Shell experience, it was probably when I was playing as Luigi in Mario Kart Wii. I was in Peach Beach and managed to get a Blue Shell just before slipping into 1st. I stupidly decided to use it, thinking it would hit whoever was in 2nd. That didn't happen. Basically, *never* use the Blue Shell when you're in 1st! XD
Yoshi Chung In my opinion Mario Kart Wii is still the best game, even after the release of MK8, then comes Double dash, then 7, then SC and then MK8. I can't decide either SNES or DS was better, but on my list MK64 gets the last place. They are all awesome games though!
Justus Grimm Lol, I don't know, MK8 just didn't leave any effect on me; the graphics aer AWESOME but other then that I didN't like the stage selections that much, not the best musics, and no random button. For me Super Circuit was finally when the series became addicting and real fun, 8 just didn't feel awesome, it was still good but not as much as SC IMO

Alright, so this race is from an Easter tournament which is why we're all using "egg" characters like Yoshi and Birdo. Beardo? Birdo, I don't even know. Whatever I say is gonna probably be pronounced not correctly--discorrectly? Uncorrectly? Incorrectly, yes that's the word I was looking for. Because...yeah, okay. Anyway, so yeah this is from an Easter tournament and this race was incredible. Like honestly this was such a great race I felt the need to commentate it. So let's jump into it--I have triple reds and I'm gonna pull a shroom here, I wanted to go to the left and do the wall hug shortcut instead of doing the gap jump because the wall hug is actually easier for me, but I freaking draft him and I just fly over the mushroom and into the pit of despair. And I was like, "COME ON! Are you freakin' serious?" and I just like facepalmed. I wanted to pull the bullet there but unfortunately I pull triple shrooms, I didn't wanna take the gap jump right there because just in case I fail it, just in case something happens, just in case someone had the shock and decided to use it, I didn't wanna take that chance because if I fell behind too much it would've just been disastrous. I pull the shock here and I saw someone in a star so I'm gonna make a smart decision here--I decide to go to the left that way I can wait a little bit longer for that guy's star to run out, then I can use the shock, chain it with an item box, luckily for me absolutely no one in the room dodges, and I pull a freaking golden. So now I'm like sitting high and mighty I'm like, "Oh yeah guys, you about to feel my wrath!" and I'm feeling I'm just gonna go and I'm gonna take the lead. And then freaking Narshen over here has his red shell--I was scared to death of hitting it, he throws it and I'm like, "YES! I'm not gonna hit it!" but then he starts bumping me and I'm like, "Oh my god I'm gonna freaking die here." but I just barely clip the edge and I'm able to hop up onto the freaking other side of the shortcut and I'm like, "Heealll yeah!" but that wasn't even the best part because that, what I just did, sets me up for this. First I'm gonna slow on whoever the hell this Birdo is behind me--I think it was Orez--and then this blue comes I'm like, "Oh shit. Race is over." And then what the frick is this, this has never happened to me before. I dodge the blue with the mushroom! Like seriously?! I was like shitting my pants, this is freaking unbelievable! I am now on top of the freakin' world! Nothing can stop me after that like seriously I thought my race was over like three people that were playing with me called hacks on me there they were like, "How did you have a shroom?!" I'm like, "I didn't have a shroom I dodged it with the mushroom!" And now I'm like on top of the world I feel like I have this in the bag and then OF COURSE freakin' rusoX takes the shortcut and ruins my freakin' victory. I still got second place and that was still freakin' unbelievable but first place would've just been so much better. Anyway guys, thank you for watching. This was such an incredible race I really hope you enjoyed it, so yeah I will have more Mario Kart Wii stuff--probably a montage of the entire tournament coming up soon. Peace to the ouuut.
another way to avoid it that I discovered my self: step 1: get a speed boost-mushroom out of an item box, and hold onto it step 2: be ready to hit the use item for when the shell comes up to you step 3: pay extra close attention, and right when it's between flying over you and hitting the ground to explode, use the item to speed away from the explosion strange, weird, crazy, and ironic, but it works I don't call myself a self of a glitch nothing
sweetest dodge ive sen. tops all of mine. although i did once hold a blue in double dash until i got to first place... my buddy was in last so i wanted to see if it would track the last placer if thrown backwards.... that thing vanished and waited 2 second before blowing me to kingdom come. costing me the race. facepalm.
max damon I played ALOT of online with Mario Kart DS. I dodged more Blue Shells in that game than I can count. I'm pretty sure if I had a dollar for each Blue Shell I dodged in that game, I could buy a Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart 8 with it.
At the time of posting this, I encountered something similar. Somehow, I was able to dodge the blue shell by tricking off the wavy section in Wii's Rainbow Road. I wish I could get a recording of it, but VS Mode doesn't give replays for some reason.
I dunno if you know this or not, but this video was used as a clip in a video talking about the mechanics and reasons for the blue shell by Extra Credit.
Is there a tutorial how to patch my game (since my physical copy is unusable, i downloaded an ISO of the game to play...i even manage to beat a few record i set a long time ago ^^)

How I dodge blue Shells in Mario Kart 7: Jump out of the map at a specific time before the blue Shell comes Close to me, then the blue Shell will freak out and go a Whole lap without hitting you, and if you do it again when it has already been around the map once, you can actually make it dissapear, because blue shells dissapear after some time if it haven't hit the leading player yet. Fun glitch :)
Same on MK8 N64 Yoshi (I don't remember) you take a path and someone throws a blue shell. Sometimes the blue shell gets confused and goes one lap then disappears.
I didn't play MKWii, but I do have 7. That golden shroom gap cut was sick as HELL, but the blue shell dodge...thank you for uploading, I wouldn't have believed it from just hearing about it. Also, I think they made this track shorter in 7, I have something like 1:35 on that version.
I'm guessing that the blue shell tracks your position until it dives down toward you, and the sudden change in direction allowed you to dodge the blast which expands outwards at a slower pace than it appears. This is also similar to how you can dodge a blue shell with a shroom. You can also dodge a blue shell by rapidly changing direction as it is also possible to dodge by entering the pipe tunnel in koopa cape when you go down the waterfall and suddenly change direction at the bottom.
I feel you bro. I once had a round where I fell off an edge while a blue shell was coming and when I respawned, the blue shell was just flying up and down like it was going to hit the ground. Then I passed it and it flew by.
We all feel your pain people. I too get hit by blue shells. Mostly whenever I'm in a random map, rarely does it hit me near the finish line. And if it did, I still win 1'st. The only infamous move in Mario karts that gets to me is getting Red shelled whenever I almost touch first. and then a random com/player speeds ahead of me and steals 1'st.
Thanks for showing me that Mariokart has more potential than people give it, everyone kinda scoffs it off as "casual" and never takes the time to learn the mechanics and just go to smash bros. This game is hardcore.

Most memorable blue shell moment. My mum had overtaken the rest of the racers with a blue shell. In first, she uses it. Goes up, comes back down. I drive past and win the race.
My most memorable Blue shell dodge was when I was playing Mario in MarioKart 8 Deluxe. I was in Piranha Plant Slide in the sewers part of the race when a blue shell comes. I’m in first and I have no experience outrunning blue shells and I didn’t have any power items. Then when I’m waiting for that shell to hit me and bracing myself to lose, a miracle happens. 2nd place person Waluigi comes to first near seconds when I’m about to get hit. I get away safely and win 1st place on the track. Definitely something I’m going to remember.
