The ML Boatworks RSX380 outrigger hits 82.1 mph! I've been focusing on running laps, but now realize it needs a prop change. Higher rake props are in the mail...
Nice boat mate in process of building my own sum great advice, look forward to seeing you out on the lake more, may pick ya brain for advice soon ,fast boating🤙🤙
Riggers can be a pain to get tuned, I had one that took a full season on running before I found the magic combo of strut adjustment, prop and turn fin. I really had my eye on this hull when it first came out but it just seems that it does better at SAW than oval from every video I have seen. Now the JAE riggers are a different story, they corner like they are glued to the water. I wish they would come out with a FE version in 38-40 for 8 or 10s.
Thanks for the feedback. I don't disagree, actually I appreciate that tip. I was given another tip to try a higher rake prop, which helped with the rear end hop. I would be curious to hear your thoughts on this run... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ytlN5A1DhCc.html
I'm running a ABC 2018-10-50-CLL. So it's a cleaver with 10 degrees of rake. Got feedback from the OSE forum that a rigger needs 15-19 degrees of rake. So, yes, it's a lifting prop that a rigger with rear shoes doesn't need. Causes rear end hop...
Hmmm. I admit most of my riggers don’t have rear sponsons. So you prolly know more about that than me. Was just curious. All of my riggers are zippkits, does yours have a bottom center ski or no?
No, it has the two shoes on the sides. I would figure that center ski does the same thing tho. Lifts the rear end. It would do better with a higher rake prop.
Sam Hallstrom agreed. The ski assists in turning and has less surface area as well. Personally I think your rear sponsons are lifting your stern and the standard prop is pulling it back down giving u prop walk. And slows it down. Just my two cents
It does have some prop walk. Probably got too much positive strut angle also. That might be pushing down. Hey, I'm on the steep side of the learning curve with riggers myself bro. I'll keep listening and learning... and trying things.
