@@user-ww6vl8uk7m No, the play in Pittsburgh where Baez thought the run would count as long as the runner from third touched home plate before Baez was tagged or forced out at first base. He simply got lucky that the Pirates first baseman was even stupider.
I agree. It’s also worse when you think about how he got injured by hustling on a routine ground ball before. When it’s a dribbler to the pitcher I think it is okay to jog so you prevent injury in a play that only has a 1% safe rate.
That looks like the manager prolly had somthn against bryce harper during that period. On a ground ball fielded cleanly back to the mound you dont just bench someone for jogging instead of sprinting
Managers HATE lack of hustle obviously… Sometimes using a star player as an example to the rest is absolutely necessary! If a star will be benched for lacking hustle, NO ONE IS SAFE from being benched… or worse.
Just four more years on Javy's contract. Just four more years on Javy's contract. Just four more years on Javy's contract. *sigh* Just breathe. Just four more years on Javy's contract. Just four more years on Javy's contract. It'll go quicker than expected. *sigh*
Still four more years left on Javy's contract. Still four more years left on Javy's contract. Still four more years left on Javy's contract. Still four more years left on Javy's contract. Still four more years left on Javy's contract.*
As a Padres fan I get extremely pissed when Machado makes contact and then basically jogs to first. He grounded out into three double plays in the last two days and not once did he put any effort in trying to beat out the throw.
You can't be serious.. that was the most routine out ever. I would understand if it was a ground ball that went past first base, but it was a ground ball to the pitcher...
@@ArJayDMnever know. pitcher could overthrow first. if there’s one thing i’ve learned from watching & playing baseball, it’s that ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.
He was the most popular player on a team that broke a 108-year World Series drought in his first full year in the majors. Apparently, he knew everything would be downhill from there and started playing like it. It's a tossup between Bryant and him for the title of most disappointing member of the 2016 Cubs. At least Bryant can blame injuries.
What doesn’t make sense to me, is not sprinting to first base no matter what. Even if there’s a possibility of injury or overextended oneself, sprinting to the base not only applies pressure to the players, but it makes it a lot tighter and a lot of times the runner can make it.
@@Imponicle even when he was elite, Westbrook was still an enigma. There's a reason why he's the only player to win NBA MVP and Shaqtin A Fool MVP in the same season
As a die-hard Cub fan, it was rough to see guys on the 2016 team get traded away but Baez is proving how much talent he truly has! He has that Shawon Dunston syndrome where he swings at anything within 15 feet of home plate!
These players can't be worried about running 90 feet or looking at the scoreboard to see how many outs there are. They don't get paid enough to do that...🙄🙄
You make MILLIONS OF DOLLARS playing a game for a living & you can't even make the effort to run hard 90ft out of respect to the fans + teammates...?🤦♂️
As someone who's forgotten how many outs there are running from first to second, I sympathize with the players who do it here. It's a little more forgivable in 8th grade after school baseball than it is in the major leagues and you're getting paid a fortune to not make that mistake, though.
Unpopular opinion but for those comebackers to the pitcher, I don't fault the batter for busting his ass. Pitcher only has to jog to the bat or under hand throw the ball to first. It's an out every time.
As a Braves fan…they should have put in the Acuna benching from 2019. I went to that game during my bachelor party weekend….thought he had a HR and pimped it into a single and then got thrown out stealing. He was not in the field the next inning.
