Another week is in the books and another really tough power rankings to decipher. I think this has been one of the hardest times I've had putting together a top 10 this late in the season every since starting this 5 years ago
Every week it seems like teams are giving me reasons to doubt them or show reasons why I should move them up only to have to move them back down.
With the playoffs only 6 weeks away the time is now if teams want to pull away from the pack!
Stay tuned to see what happens in this fun 2024 season

@@ihartsports Yeah I suppose that’s fair, but they’re only 13 over .500 currently. Lot of teams whose records are much better than that. I understood it last week cuz they were so hot and power rankings are all about who’s playing well now, but after they got swept this weekend idk

they have to prove it in the next 4 series, they got boston, orioles, Phillies n royals coming up. If they beat these teams, they will be taken more seriously

They definately have flashes of that I’d argue the dbacks have been tho if we look at the last 45 games and their opponents

As far as hardest divisions go this season, normally I say AL East but this season it's really only 2 teams in contention for the top spot. I think NL West and AL Central are actually the most highly contested (hardest to get to/stay in the lead spot) this season.

As an O's fan I agree with your O's take, but I will point out the Yankees have about a .500 record since June as well. Even putting my bias aside I don't think they Yanks are beating the Padres, Dodgers, Astros, and Brewers right now (especially with Clay as their closer with 10 blown saves)

They got swept by the rays come on man. When the brewers swept the guardians, really? Over the last 13 games the brewers went 10 and 3 playing the braves, reds, dodgers, guardians, are you for real? Nobody wants to give the brewers their real credit

@@ihartsports I’ll make a deal with you since I always watch your show. If the brewers sweep the diamondhacks then you move the diamondhacks down out of the top 5 and you move the brewers to the top number 1 position. Because it seems like you running it like that by putting the diamondhacks in first as the best team in all of baseball. Because they won a few games man you can’t do it like that. Plus the brewers is beating the diamondhacks in all categories of team stats and we got the better bullpen and we lead all of baseball with the best run differential.

Dbacks beat the padres and dodgers last series they played them Played Yankees first series of the year so hard to say how they would match up now A couple weeks from now we can see vs the Astros right now I lean dbacks but that’s why it’s my list What’s your top 5?

It's based upon recent (last 1-2-3-4 weeks) performance. Interesting take, most of the ranking sites mainly use season record as their heaviest weighting, with minor factor for injuries and recent play. I appreciate the Astros high ranking based upon performance since All-Star; question will be how their rookie pitching core holds up during the playoffs.
