Great video. Anyone else notice that a number of the plays at first base were safe? I wonder if the umps subconsciously call a good play out sooner than a routine one.
If you see baseball its impossible, They hit a ball that comes from 60 foot distance and have and average velocity of 95 mph. That makes the batter have a reaction of 0.72 frames of a second. Baseball it's Amazing
Oh that? He's letting everyone know that he didn't catch it on the fly. It was a short hop and he didn't want people to get confused. If you look closely, he makes the gesture that he's out before the camera shifts over to 1st base. Start at 4:00
I actually am an umpire, and you can tell most weren't close by the slow, deliberate out mechanic used by the umpires in most of them. At 13:48, for example, it looks really close, but the replay shows that he was out by at least 2 steps.
Nearly all were close.. Not so much with the slo-motion instant replay, but most were close. I guess you don't understand what it is like to be an umpire. It's tough.
I guess they don't watch the cardinals....damn...not one cards clip in there! Maybe they didn't have any spectacular plays but I figured I'd see one lol
