In my opinion, the homeless man was absolutely wrong for assaulting the teacher and should be charged for that. Any martial arts gym will tell you it's used for either sport(competition) or self defense. At the point when the kid arrives the man is already down and contained. His gym should immediately kick him out for violating the rules set about by their creed as martial artists. So....it was both illegal and went against any proper martial arts training

If he was, then it would be justified for Nate to do what was necessary to protect his mother from further harm. Nate confronted the man afterwards while he was being held down by his daddy. The homeless guy was not at that point a threat to anyone. You can still maybe justify hitting him a couple of times after being told the guy hit his mama. But, the sickening beat down he gave him while daddy was pinning him down went well beyond that. It was a cowardly act pure and simple. The very fact that that you support this type of behavior is telling everyone that you’re at the same level. Sad!

Interesting aspect to this event is the police in the scene did no investigation regarding any of this. The puncher and his dad wanted to hold this man accountable for his actions, yet they lied to the police to cover their crimes. Lots of.hypocrisy here. They should have shown the full beating that the man took. He was held down as 4 men beat the crap out of him, the beating was so bad that people driving by were calling the police. When the ambulance got there, they told the cops that the man had big lumps all over his head. Still they took the word of their buddy who said that he fell on his face, and that was why he was bloody. The homeless man will do a year in jail. The two that beat him, won't get any punishment.

Dad is 100% at fault. He wanted to be in charge then he takes responsibility for everything. If the damn would have whooped him a bit then held him for the cops I wouldn’t have cared at all. But what he allowed to happen was not cool.
