Okay but the guy Nick was actually a pretty good person for this: brings a new and YOUNG audience to the sport, handles himself with respect. If the kids are going to watch gamers, I've seen a lot worse out there. Well done.
I'd give one of my testes to train with GSP! For context, I have 3 kids already, so I don't need a pair. I'd also give one to train with Sensei Seth, but only if I hadn't already gave the left one for training with GSP.
By the way, I couldn't help but notice your wonderful artwork. It would be a real shame if everyone in your household couldn't appreciate its greatness equally.
@senseisethreacts I had looked away right before he choked him so I just assumed you were right then hearing the confusion I went back and laughed for way too long
Taekwondo guy here lol we use the hook kick to pull the hands down for the jab cross all the time. When I teach the hook kick to beginners, that’s always part of the explanation of why you might use it. PS try throwing a turn hook kick with your back leg a few times… You’ll find it lands pretty often 😉
6:50 to defend safe space karate aka tkd, i also never really thought rear leg hook kicks would work, thought they were more for show until very recently. i've been finding a lot of success throwing them in sparring by setting them up with low kicks. after about 2 low kicks, the opponent anticipates blocking their left side and then the hook kick comes around and hits them on the other side of the face
The name of the submission you're looking for is an arm triangle, or head and arm choke, not a D'Arce. They all kinda feel the same when you're getting put in them though ngl
@Gunnar-Peterson it doesn't really work that way with grappling. Either you get good/better, or you don't. Some people just don't care. They're not pro fighters anyways, so it doesn't really matter.
I've also been taught this combo with more of a kakato geri (axe kick type of kick) in kyokushin karate, knowing GSP has a kyokushin background, i'd say it's possible he got it from there
@@senseisethreacts Don't beat yourself up with that, Seth, you took an ice bath with Wonderboy, i'm sure he'll forgive you for not watching his technique tuesdays
Hey Seth I just wanted to ask if you by any chance heard about sumo wrestler called Takanoyama. I think what he was doing was pretty cool and worth checking out.
Getting to train with GSP would be such an honor. He was rather gentle in the sparring and effortlessly funny in this video. My favorite part is when he said the thing!🤣 Brutal trash talker. Conor has nothing on the GOAT🐐
So Seth, with all the respect I have for you, your French accent needs much work! (It sucks!😂). Oh yeah and clearly you've never rolled/trained with Georges... He has always been this generous. I remember being a lowly white belt when GSP was a god (actually a BJJ blue belt)... he would take the time to roll with everyone as to try various technics on different body types and experience levels to evaluate his proficiency with whatever technic he was toying with at that moment. Very gentlemanly and always safe with his training partner. One of my greatess claim to fame; being tapped by Georges before anyone ever knew him!
Hook kick to 1-2 is quintessentially flow. The joker in the stack, if you will, that can line up "your other stuff", as Mike would say. Try, Hook,1-2, R-Knee, southpaw, jab, left thai roundhouse.
@7:17, instead of planting your foot, (as you land the right hand, or not land it, be doing this) roll your right foot like you are about to sprint, and whether the R-knee or teep lands or not, load the hips to snap back. A hook would suffice as well. Range depending. The idea is to make the range that you want. So, Ideally, Hook, 1-2, R-Teep, Jab(for ranging), Left Roundhouse, ...or sweeeeeep. As you lock n load hips, for a right hand back across the other way.
BTW @Sensei Seth GSP is a Karate Boy. He'd probably be glad to do something cool with you if you arranged it and emailed him. Key words, something cool.
Easy. I pick the snail, I point out that the snail doesn't have arms and thus isn't eligible for an arm wrestling match, I win by DQ. gg ez no re (Seriously though I would do literally anything if the other option was a fight with a gorilla, them bastards are SCARY)
Is Seth going to incorrectly identify a BJJ submission in every video from now on? Seems like a great way to get engagement judging by this comment section :p
He might be saying he's a class act, by saying he doesnt take it too far, he's maybe more aware of his opponents giving up, or being lights out. Some fighters dont seem to care just mangle people like an escaped Silver Back Gorilla with ref yanking them off lol
@@deanthephilosopher9486 They're just two completely different chokes from two completely different positions. If you're interested I'd recommend watching a video on both, that will make more sense than me trying to explain without visuals.
I've been passing for gsp in online games for years in the games chats. It's super easy! Just be french canadian and do absolutely no efforts so suppress your accent. Than try to turn everything into a life lesson. Yep it might had been me you actually played with... sorry bro. 🤣
(Also 40% of people 21-34 play video games) Less of a "kid" thing these days. I could see him playing games, he seems like type might play Madden or something.
Maybe I'm wrong, but anytime I hear anyone say " I did 'insert combat sport here'' 6 'or more' years ago. I know what's up'' That automatically comes off as a joke to me. I assume they're saying it, knowing full well that doesn't mean shit, and they're saying it to be funny, intentionally. So when people take it seriously I don't know if I'm dumb, or they are.
It definitely depends on the person saying it, but I think most genuinely mean it. I'm in my thirties and a good friend of mine thinks he's indestructible and a force to be reckoned with because he got a brown belt 20 years ago and he's never been in a fight😂
Dude USED to be a blue belt in Taekwondo 10 years ago. And he thinks he know what he's doing. I trained MMA 3 years ago and I already know I don't know what I'm doing.
So as a fighting moron whose knowledge on the subject mostly comes from 80s action movies, how does the belt thing work? Does it have to be renewed? If you earned a belt say 20 years ago but haven't trained in 15, are you still a whatever belt?
@@OptimusSledge I don't know how that works officially in different martial arts, all I know is that if you don't practice regularly you'll forget everything you learned. It doesn't apply only to people who trained enough for it to become second nature for them, because in stressful environment you fall back to what you trained for, but only if you trained it enough
@@Schrodingers_kid For sure, that's kind of what made me wonder. I've taken first aid courses but wouldn't say I'm qualified because they were so long ago that I've forgotten most of it and a lot of it has probably changed. I'm just curious as to how it officially works in martial arts, and also the etiquette of it. Is it bad form to claim you are a rank when you attained it a long time ago and haven't trained since? How long can you go before you're not really a whatever belt any more?
@@OptimusSledge It depends on a specific martial art, an Aikido club nearby me demands that you participate in tournaments like once or twice a year to keep your rank, but I'm unsure about other ranked martial arts and I believe that it depends on where it's located.
