Not even 1% of BJJ practitioners try to roll relaxed and conserving energy like Ryron does. His BJJ is almost like a spiritual ritual. My favorite Gracie ALL TIME!
I'd never seen anyone not extend the arm before on the finish. Such class, like "Whenever you realize I could break your arm, you can tap (but I won't break it.)"
Gotta love the guys making the negative comments about the Gracies. Meanwhile he is tapping some of the best black belts in the world with ease. Going for certain moves when he feels like it. Those black belts he is tapping so easily could beat anyone who ever left a comment here...lol
@@graciescottsdale I've seen every bit of video footage and had his instructional material. I've also trained on several seminars with rorion ,ryron and rener.Theres no doubt they have improved on his teachings and are far better instructors than helio or their father.
Love that Ryron asked guy who most likely threw his paper on the ground if he, "[dropped it]" in such a respectful way that the guy had no choice but to say, "thank you, sir."
so relaxed.. so smooth.. seems like the best of the gracies fight the same way, always using the basics in a calm manner. both rickson and roger beats everybody with the basics, just like ryron did in this video
good point. i also realized moments after i posted this that most of the GH traditionalists would be competing under the Gracie Rules (gracieworlds2012DOTeventbriteDOTcom). obviously it doesn't have the prestige of the IBJJF events but personally I like their rules a lot
Rolling like Helio style really does annoy some people who trains in this art. But that’s the true beauty of jiu jitsu. Be calm and relax and let the other guy waste energy. Not many can understand it but it really opens up how the art can benefit you if you are a competitor or non competitor.
Is it just me or did Ryron purposely release his triangle and pass a few easy collar chokes..he was just toying and having fun. These guys are great. No ego to go for the kill but just enjoy the roll..even in competition.
Some people just hate, because they're not ready for change. Winning means physically tapping out your opponent therefore points does not make you a winner, maybe in the game, but not in jiu jitsu in general. Some people are just scared to be side mounted, mounted, or even back mounted, if you know the escape, should you limit yourself from being in these positions? Now that's real jiu-jitsu.
Please don't speed up and slow down the competition footage like that. Also please don't wash out the colors with the filters you're using. We just want to see the competition footage in a clear state thank you.
Debatable. Keep in mind that his whole point was that this tournament allowed that mentality. It was submission only and lasted 15 minutes instead of the faster paced ones of IBJJF tourneys. He could be more patient and relaxed for that reason and let the other guy tire out a bit more before attacking. Plus, you have guys like Kron Gracie who I would consider to be a bit more traditional and he fairs pretty well at the other tournaments. I'd still like to see some more of them competing.
Sem firula, básico e eficiente, enquanto o outro fez estrelinha pra passar a guarda, o cara só fez o básico mesmo e finalizou, por isso não dá pra entrar em campeonato de pontos tem que ser mesmo valendo só finalização.
his concepts towards relaxing when the other guy wants to work hard (i.e. for a takedown, pass, etc.) is great for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. but that type of mentality will never win you a gold at the Mundials if you look at Gracie Humaitá’s competition roster, the only people who win world championships are guys who train outside of GH/The Gracie Academy. The Ribeiro Brothers play play a very different style of Jiu-Jitsu and Roger Gracie has worked a lot with Gracie Barra.
@@graciescottsdale hopefully after all these years since he posted this he understands that regardless of Ryron’s concept on relaxing in a match or Roger training with GB they used basic Jiu-Jitsu. Nothing fancy straight to the point
