#epclight #vwmk6 #jetta #gti Buy a scanner, fix your car! OBD2 Scanner amzn.to/3Qfl4kA amazon link* Just wanted to go more in depth with the EPC Light issue. Hopefully this helps you diagnose your issues a little better.
A common issue generally is not having a fully charged Battery, even though it might be new but only gets short trips. A way to get by the 1st failed start but it ticks over is to use a Jump Starter Pack. Or if the Battery is quite old then use a Trickle Charger. This issue will trigger many faults and will get worse once you run it with EPC light ON as that can run Rich but confuse Sensors to work as they should. So you may NOT have any fault except what is very obvious e.g. if you hear a Whistle even when switching off = failed PCV and needs full unit replaced ideally to cover the ball stop valve also on top of the diaphragm itself. Keep 'em running!
2009 vw jetta, cleaned throttle, reset throttle pedal. 1. Gas pedal depress to the floor. 2. Turn key on do not start. 3. Hold pelal to floor 15 seconds turn key off. 4. Release padel. Check break fluid, mine was low toped off. Reset codes, test.....mine is off for now, thanks hope it helps someone in the same boat.
Dear my mk6 jetta 2014 model have epc light problem but Oly in the morning time What I do for this light and when light comes on then pedal not working
So my 2003 polo EPC light will come on, then revs will go up and down then my car will completely turn off mid driving. Have replaced throttle body and accelerator like mechanic suggested. It’s been scanned dozens of times. Any ideas?
My EPC light has consistently been coming on over the last two months. Along with the engine light. We’ve had the battery replaced, wheel speed sensor, and now replaced the camshaft position sensor. Still having the same “limp mode” issue 😢 over 1000$ later..
I have a 17’ Tiguan with the same engine. It was hit in the front but I put it back together. It’s currently on limp mode, it seems like it’s stuck on first gear. The front parts (radiator/trns oil cooler/ turbo cooler/AC conds/fans) are either new or with low miles. New spark plugs and oem red coil packs. I was hoping that was going fix the rough idle and epc/ check engine/ transmission lights. Next is to test it with a different battery to eliminate the battery being the issue. Thanks for the videos I vote for the intake manifold video btw. Current codes: P0122/00290 Throttle/Pedal Pos.Sensor A Circ. Low Input P0222/00546 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch B Low Input 01314 Engine control module (ECM) - Please read DTC
@@MaRio-xy2hx just make sure all cables are plugged in properly. Mine was loose/ not making contact. Location: behind the radiator, in front of the manifold.
Planning to replace all My coil pack and spark plugs on my 2017 Golf TSI 1.8. I’m getting EPC light and check engine light. I scanned when it first happened I got a cylinder #2 error.
i watched part 1 and added oil and the check engine light went away so tmmrw i’ll drive it and see how it runs but i’m gonna look into replacing my spark plugs , coil packs and injectors if i can find someone to do them for me
I got the same light, but I turned the car off and turned it back on and the light went away. The car isn't driving any different. 2015 Volkswagen Jetta se . Help!!
My epc light was random between 1200 and 1800 rpm, check engine light said camshaft position sensor sensor circuit bank 1, changed, did not solve problem. Long story short, slow oil leak under magnetic on upper timing chain cover, car was 3 quarts low on oil. No burning smell, no oil on ground, I got busy and had not checked oil in about 2 months and right around 9000 miles, Got Blessed on this one.
Month ago mechanic told me I have a slow leak on my upper timing cover and to keep an eye on it.. fast forward to now…. EPC is coming on after 3k RPM. I was thinking the injectors could be it. Do u think I should fix the upper timing cover first? It’s about a 1500$ job.
Had my low oil pressure light come on earlier and then went back off. Epc came on about 15 miles later as i pulled in the house. Don’t know where i even want to start. Also scared to drive it to even get it looked at now lol. Oil looks fine. Car died on me and wouldn’t crank back about 2 weeks ago but has acted fine since then.
2011 Jetta 2.5 - My EPC light was caused by cracked (plastic!) valve cover, causing vacuum leak, a $435 part, $245 labor. ouch! They also replaced camshaft position sensor and MAP sensor due to a long time problem with VVT. Hope that fixed everything
My car just shuts off while I’m driving the EPC LIGHT along with the Battery light comes on and my car locks up and shuts down so I have to turn it off then back on sometimes I have to get a jump. I replaced the battery but it happened again right afterwards so I do t know what to do? Maybe I need a tune up? Could be electrical?
Question about my 2003 vw golf gti i have scanned the codes and it said it needed a throttle body mass flow air sensor and turbo sensor i have replaced all new parts about $530 worth of parts and i have cleared the codes and the parts did not Make any different it drove good for about 8 minutes then it went right back to epc i have found a wires that was bad connected to the turbo sensor i have replaced the wires and it’s still doing the same oh i have replaced the Excelerator pedal and still doing the same i have no idea what it’s wrong if it was misfires would it said on the scanner or it’s a vw thing to fix the epc light??
Great video just going through the epc event..happened while driving still drives and accelerates just edgy feel possible ignition coil prefailure...these cars experience frequentl coil replacement possible bad coil design or resistance internally...let you know what happened..what autel scanner can manipulate key reading
Hey man I installed this in my car and I have a cat back exhaust and knn air filter system but I haven’t got tune but when I installed it feel slow on the throttle and a “EPC” light came on the and my turbo is not working it’s not spooling up and not boost is being made. Any advice ?
What recommendations would give if my epic light comes on but shuts off and doesn’t come on for a while and during the time the epic light is off the car runs normal ?
Quick question, I used the code scanner and no codes popped up, but my ect light came on and it feels like if my car is having trouble shifting at high rpm, I was driving and my car felt like it went in neutral and my rpm’s shot up and everything, but the car was good after a couples sec and seemed normal. But now I’ve realized it’s only when I start to gas it at 3k rpm or over.
Hey bud, is there any relation to the traction control light and EPC light coming on at the same time? I just replaced all four packs and plugs and car ran great for 2 months and now it’s doing it again but if I pull everything apart and clean it even after a day or two it will run great for a few hours but happens again. Any ideas?
Hi Joel, I have a 2015 VW Jetta -1.8T - The EPC Light/Check Engine light came on. The car has 137k miles on it . I connected the OBDII - Reader - Code - P00AF came up. Should i change the Oxygen Sensor first? or the Waste Gate Actuator? Not sure where i should start. Any suggestion on what else i can check?
Hi! Hmm, looks like that code points to the actuator. They sell repair kits now so you won't have to replace the whole Turbo. They (internet forums) say it's doable but tedious job. I haven't done it myself so I wouldn't know the extent of the work. If you haven't replaced the 02 sensors yet, I'd go ahead and do it. Mine failed at 90,000 miles.
@@JoelsDriveway thank you for your advise. Greatly appreciate it. I'll be sure to O2 Sensors. the both failed on your car? i'll look into the actuator also.
@@yogiman86 My pre-cat sensor went bad. The other is still good so far 🤞 They are relatively on the cheaper side as far as maintenance goes. With these cars, it's all about replacing things before they go bad. Good luck on the repair!
2012 Passat 2.5L my EPC light turns on only when I press gas between 1500-2000 rpm then it goes away. I changed the 02 sensor the next day it threw a cam shaft position sensor code. I changed that now it’s throwing the same code again for camshaft. P0341 the car runs better then before & when it’s warmed up after abt 15 miles of driving it dosent flash at all & runs perfect. Please help idk what the issue is Codes it threw Bank 1 02 Camshaft position sensor
My 2010 CC has epic light Changed coils, plugs, throttle body, got the gold pin throttle body connector, throttle pedal. I keep getting throttle actuator fault code. I’ve changed the throttle body twice now. One with dealer part and other from ECS. Same code. Someone told we wastegate or turbo. And some have said computer. I’m lost at the moment. Anything info helps!
EPC light can be misfire, but it has been proven the intake manifold gives that code, he did say it at the beginning of the video. On mine is P2015 What code pops up in yours?
Same issue, changed the throttle body three times, changed the throttle body plug twice. I doubt it's the ECU so I changed the wiring harness. Finally fixed. I am thinking it was the transmission plug but changing the wiring harness fixed it. $1400 repair.
Hello, Joel My EPC light came on after my battery died. I jump started my 2017 VW Golf Sportwagen a couple of times, to take it to get the battery replaced. Could this cause it?
Yes! Your cars system and sensors can be reading low voltage. Replace your battery and the epc light should turn off, if not, you may have other issues going on. At that point you would need to scan the codes. Go with what you know and replace the battery first 👌
Epc light randomly comes on, replaced the spark plugs and coil, still having mis fire when the car is quarter way warmed up, OBD scanner saying it’s random
Hmm, I'd verify the fuses were correct and seated properly. Next, I'd check the battery voltage. Working with anything electrical, make sure your battery is in good shape.
My epc light has been on and off for the past week whenever it turns on I shut the car off and on again and the light is gone until I idle in some point of my drive. Usually doesn't happen when I'm driving though. Car goes into limp mode after the light appears only allowing me to go above 2400rpms. (2009 mk5 gti) I heard it could be the wiring harness but I sorta want to talk it down with someone with such expertise like yourself if possible before going to buy a whole new assembly. I can't see it being my coil packs because they all were replaced not even 4k miles ago.
My tiguan is doing this same thing. I have replaced the plugs and coils after scanning it and showing a misfire. I replaced all four. It's still happening but only when the car is in idle. Did you find anything out on this?
@@MaRio-xy2hx Shut the car off and turn the key to accessory, hold down the gas peddle ALL the way down for 15 seconds. After 15 seconds take the key out but keep the peddle down until the key is fully out and then you can release your foot. This is a way to reset the throttle body doesn't matter if you have a tune or not, its helped me a lot. Around 10 months ago it happened and I did this and I loosened the wiring going into the throttle body because it was sorta tight where it was put last. Hope this helps!
Yes, but the amount of labor to get to them, it be best to just replace them. It would suck to put it all back together and still have the same issues. Around 80,000 miles is when they start to fail/clog
I've replaced all coils, plugs, and injectors. my battery is dead, but the battery light is not showing. I'm baffled. it's a 2.0tsi. I need someone to give me some good advice bc I don't go to dealerships.
Freaking EPC light came on, then check engine light, car running perfect, no issues what so ever. Then the POS decides to stop running, no limp mode, just totally F'd and flatbed tow trucks are very expensive. Never been stranded from failure to drive 10 ft. from a car with only 60k mileage.
My 2022 VW POLO GTI after 3.5k miles had an epc light, im waiting what the dealer finds but the mechanic who came after 30 mins of working on it the car wouldnt start at all
Is there oil pooling on the valve cover? Timing belt cover may have a small leak causing air to escape. Engine warms up, gasket expands with heat, and error goes away.
I have a 2013 Jetta trendline 2.0 non turbo although the car is not peppy its been good too me, has 278,000 km on it. I had the coils replaced, throttle body. The car bucks and jolts almost sounds like a sucking sound when it does this. Epc code is on now also may be a different issue but it hisses ,has a whining sound like a supercharger on acceleration. I have been told it has a misfire too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and helpful this is my first VW. Thanks.
Most of the EPC errors i have encountered were caused by vacuum leaks: leaking rear mains seals (crankshaft seal), Faulty PCV, leaking vacuum pump and broken hoses.
I changed my pvc valve and it fixed an issue that when I put gas I’ll have bad starts. Now it’s good. My epc light is still on and everyday while I’m driving I lose throttle response entirely until I let go of the throttle and reengage. And when I let go of the throttle I have a slight jerk and my rev hang isn’t working. Any idea ?
I always replace all coil packs and spark plugs at the same time. It's just dumb logic to not replace all because when 1 fails the rest will fail shortly after. Again it's a far superior logic to replace all so if the EPC light comes back on then 99% it's not the spark plugs and coil packs.
I do agree with the replace the packs and plugs at the same time as a group that it logic but at 75-100 per pack and roughly 25-30 per plug not all people can afford that….however, I literally just replaced my 4 packs and 4 plugs and the car drove great for 2 months but now is having the same issues again so it’s just a troubleshooting game at this point.
en una palabra defino al Jetta 2013 2.5 SE como un maldito carro que jode por todo y que fastidia a los mecanicos y no se quieren meter con esta porqueria de VW , nunca mas quiero saber de carros Europeos .
New plugs, coil pack, injectors, water pump, getting misfire all banks, epc light, misfire stopped, epc light still on, drives fine, no loss of power , oh and smell gas on start up (cold start)
@@JoelsDriveway yeah it was lpfp weirdly enough, my previous workshop he said he replaced it but now i knew that the connection wire was broken and he changed that saying he replaced the whole pump. some people work with no dignity. But year LPFP can actually cause that issue.
