What no way Mo Farah is British what the heck man he isn't Somali stfu But fr the British talk about him like he's fighting the east Africans when he is easy African 😂
Half Marathon -21.0975km HM WR = 58:01 If this pace could be maintained until the hour mark, Kamworor would have hit 21.825km, roughly 500m further than Farah did today.
@@bboy6surme Haile had achilles surgery after leaving 5000m & 10000m track for fellow Bekele he did 45m less than Mo in jogging shoes at start of his 2007 Berlin marathon training block. After all 2008 Berlin it's first time in history to sub2.04 nearly full decade before carbon plates. Haile has broken more world records than anyone and now fully prepared runners getting credit in dragonfly spikes after breaking Haile's records which happened in poor conditions.
congratulations My Brothers Mo Farah And Bashir Abdi ,Whe Are So Happy To Take first One And Second Place ,All Somali People They Are Happy Love You Go Ahead 🇸🇴 🇸🇴
Not really, Mo Farah has already ran 59:07 for a European record in the half marathon, so I'm sure he saw this race as a half marathon race on the track where he could run even faster/farther. 21,330m is just a bit farther than a 13.1 miles.
Because it wasn't a 20km race. The same as the women's 1hr record that was broken during a half marathon.... It wasn't a 1hr race therefore doesn't count
Andrew Devine That’s so wrong. Intermediate times should count, like they do in swimming. You should be able to set the 1500m WR during a mile, for example. In addition, in swimming you can set an individual WR on the opening leg of a relay. Probably not possible in a 4x1 because of the curve, but doing it in a 4x4 should be achievable.
The speed and quality of your content is incredible! 2 video requests I'll throw out for consideration: World record history of the 10,000m (great hype for Cheptegei's upcoming attempt), and the story of the Flying Finns (plural).
@@SteveNinetyski we are matter the flag we are somali, somali people live in ethiopia .djibouti.somalia.kenya.yemen.we have very large space to live.thks
Abdi taming the lead seemed to help a lot. It gave farah a few minutes to relax before his kick over the last minute. Also the fact that farah had someone there with him the whole way definitely helped. Props to both of them🙌
@@markusljungqvist9261 Road always harder than track but it's true that's fastest track run as previous record had done Geb's off time block probably after his achilles surgery which happened in my country. If I remember greatest run of the legend after being operated I guess it was first sub2.04 marathon in history and decade before carbon plate era.
Gustavo gaviria so he was suppose to be born 20 years or more before his time or compete against these athletes you mentioned? But he’s breaking their records?
@@noriabu6613 he is breaking whose record? Lol And What do you mean by he should have been born 20 years ago to compete with the athletes i mentioned .The athletes i mentioned are not old, there was no much age difference between MO farah and the athletes i mentioned. But it's okay i got you, you are Somali and Muslim so you to root for him.
Had a lot breath left as well after the 1 hour race. I think he is incredible to watch, lik the others, but do you really they these guys are clean? :)
That's great, he's only track material nothing else and want to see him running with the real G.O.A.T, we have a new champ from Uganda. Can't wait to see see that one.
Elmi Muhiyadiin They are not from somalia. You guys from somalia need to get lost and stop embarrassing yourselves. They are both from Somaliland not somalia.
He ran a good race to be sure, but in virtually every clip except for the surge with 10min left, Mo was leading the way. He had to break the wind, and Abdi got the benefit of drafting. I would like to have seen more teamwork, at least until the last bit. If they had shared the leading duty more evenly, I think Mo could have run faster than he did, or Abdi may have broken down sooner.
@Tebalo Kokozela yes, teamwork.you said that like it should be an automatic disqualification of my comment. This concept is not uncommon at all in endurance racing. It's much more common in cycling (yes. Even in competition between rivals), but certainly happens in running as well, and would almost certainly result in a faster time for both athletes. You'll notice that I did mention that this is a strategy for the early and middle sections of a race. Obviously they wouldn't and indeed shouldn't continue this strategy to the finish line.. You run together, help each other out, then in the later stages, the actual racing begins and whoever has the most left in the tank runs away with it. But in a 1 hour race, there's absolutely no benefit to pulling away from the second place runner until the later stages (unless that person is clearly not up to the pace you want to run). But there is huge benefit for both athletes if they share the windbreaking duties. Running alone is always harder than pacing with someone else. That said, it's perfectly within abdi's right to draft off of Mo for as long as he can keep up. But doing so, and then still losing the race, really softens the initial comment I replied to. Abdi had a great personal performance, but it was nothing compared to what Mo did.
I agree with one of the best racers of all time. A GOAT has to have world records in competitive races. Farrah has never even posted a top 10 time in either the 5k or the 10k. He is a great champion though.
Well you could think of the situation like Phil mickelson, one of the world’s best golfers, but when he was in his prime, tiger was in his prime. If it was just him and no one like bekele, he!s one of the greatest
Honestly not surprised at all. Farah is a monster on the track and he belongs in the sport. I’m glad he came back to where he started because I feel he’s a far better track runner than road runner just based on his racing style.
That is also extremely impressive how very few people can achieve this. And also to not discredit the other finishers as well they are all very strong and the definition of speed
This is the low hanging fruit of world records. Farah is a superb tactical racer and knows how to kick hard at the end of a race but I really think there are 3 or 4 men who could break this record tomorrow. Kipchoge, Bekele and Cheptagai to name a few. The one hour race is rarely staged and I believe that is why Farah had a go at this record. Before everyone comes at me with comments saying 'Let's see you do better', I definitely can't even come close to that. I just don't think Farah can truly hold a candle to any of the great athletes previously mentioned. It was a good run though.
The names you mentioned can't stand with mo in any type of a damn race..... If it comes down to a sprint finish. Put some respect on his name sir mo farah
@@johngodwin1640 while I respect your opinion, I must disagree for the most part. Yes Farah has a great finish and might win against Kipchoge if it comes down to a sprint finish after a slow race but he is nowhere near as effective in the middle of race and is easily dropped if the pace is fast. The fact that he got knighted is irrelevant.
This record is a little more stout than you think. The half marathon record was ran at 4:25 pace, this was ran at 4:31 pace. Seems like a big difference but running on a track for an hour is much different, in spikes at that. But yes I agree the three you name are CURRENTLY better than Farah
He’s definitely a championship racer type of guy. Winning medals is more important to some than going after world records of course, plus going after a world record in your prime could possibly have longevity consequences in the sport... I would rather have a world record than an Olympic gold personally but to each their own. Very few can do both, even El Guerrouj had trouble getting a gold in his own world record event lol. And sponsors such as Nike probably require or highly push winning medals and placing top 3-5 in the world to keep or increase sponsorship. Many deciding factors to consider.
Mo Farah has already ran 59:07 for a European record in the half marathon, so I'm sure he saw this race as a half marathon race on the track where he could run faster/farther. 21,330m at 13.25 miles is just a bit farther than 13.1 miles half marathon.
This was interesting to see a whole hour. Farah have been hard challenge and good fight against that record. New hologram in third line seemed than competing with others.
I guess I'm an old school kind of guy, I like the people in the race do the hard work of pace setting. It is the mental challenge of racing at the peak of your physical ability, not just following a set of lights or a bunch of paid pace runners. I'd like to see these artificial devices banned. However, it was a fabulous performance by Farah and Abdi.
Banned for Olympics, world championships, and other such races. That way we can truly see the best runners and great competition. Other races (like WR attempts) seem fine.
If you wanted to get really old-fashioned you could go ahead and ban electric timers and television cameras etc. etc. In my opinion the lights are a nice way to make the sport more accessible to average people like myself. I also feel that humanity is going through a dark stage this year, and we really need cool things like world records to cheer us up. Personally this race made my weekend!
Bekele is a freak of Nature. a rare gem. No one can compete with him, not even the Great Haile Gebrselassie. Mo Farah with all the modern technology (pace makers, wind breakers, Hologram, world record line and lightning) can't come close. If he were to be British, he would have been Knighted Twice
