Shortly after the turnoff point to Hideout Canyon, the trail transitions from red dirt to a scenic juniper pine and ponderosa forest. The temperature cools down, providing relief during hot summer days in Moab.
As you progress up the trail in Manti-La Sal National Forest, you'll be surrounded by pines and aspen trees.
