Mobile Ads Have Reached A Whole New Level Of Bad 

I think most governments just don't care enough to go after these games, lots of which are in foreign countries that won't respond anyways. Although it was interesting to see that Homescapes actually got in legal trouble for their ads in the UK.

Ah well, not much but I guess it's the first step. I think eventually people will catch on and start doing something about it. That or this business model will die out - either way it all feels like it's just flying under the radar for now.

Thought so. Even still it's so strange that they translated everything else. Maybe the voice actor didn't know English and he was just reading the script phonetically except for the numbers. Who knows.

What really gets me is that despite all these monster-evolving ads there isn't even a game for it. Like the advertising company had one dumb idea and made a bunch of ads they sold off to unrelated game studios.

@@EphiTV That may be the point, sometimes people use these areas (like silly game ads) as a portfolio. There are fake magic trick videos that did the same in the past, captain disillusion did a good video about it.

It'd be funny to have that power-mad waifu cop get stopped by an _intercontinental highly evolved mega-fauna._ He had 3 of the best waifus in the game, but that was not enough to last an instant against turtle-lobster-shark.

@@EphiTV that's the one! You're supposed to draw lines between the dog and the bees, but no matter what the lines just get shoved out of the way. It's been all over Tumblr for me, it's driving me insane.

The Play Store reviews make it seem like there's more ad-time than gameplay in the actual game. Getting in to some sort weird feedback loop where these games are just vehicles to advertise other games.

I love that half the time the actual ads playing before these videos are for equally bad games.

Yeah, lots of ads where people say they love the games but have most likely never played them.

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of those shared around lately. Some are just barely on the line where the video could get demonetized so I tend to skip 'em.

I think I've seen that one. They have a whole set of ads with that same format and slightly different assets. Pretty strange.

Interesting, I hadn't seen those before. Another instance where the ads look way more interesting than the game. Reminds me of Omori or some other indie throwback with a dark twist.

I wouldn't be surprised if marketing was like 90% of their budget. The actual dev work seems minimal once everything is up and running.

@EphiTv The "when there's a budget cut" thing was a meme. The reason I think there doing that is that the people that have at marketing ran out of ideas and started using the youtubes they sponsor to TRY to gain clicks hoping that the viewer has seen them before and will download the game because there Favorite youtuber was in the ad. I don't know why they think it's effective. BTW the companies that do this are big ones. you know the ones that actually try to sponsor people for example: RAID shadow legends.

Yeah, they're constantly trying new formats, which is why we get so many terrible ads like these. Whatever sticks I guess.
