Ive watched a shedload of these flip-top mitre station builds and I must say I think yours is the one of the best I'm going to go for - very nice solutions - simple and smart - thanks for sharing!

This is the flip design that wins it for me, no bolts to lock, no hinges to buy. Nice work, I shall shamelessly copy the concept for my shop and claim it as my own design to my wife

not having to mess with pins was important to me. if I had to spend time taking them out, tightening them down etc, I would be less likely to use it. reduce friction in the work flow. glad you like it, hope you're wife approves

This is great and better than the design I had come up with! I was trying to think of a way to hide the miter saw but hadnt thought of flipping it upside down like that. I also might be getting a table saw without the stand, so my idea was to have the table saw built onto the end level with the top

Do the plans show how to measure/ adjust height to match table saw and how to ensure that when the miter saw is flipped up the rest of the bench is the same level as the saw base?
@TheHowtoDad
@TheHowtoDad 3 года назад
That's a good point. It would not be difficult to figure this out. I can ad that to the plans. Basically the legs would need to be adjusted. And the location of the pivot one thickness of the flip section. The good news is, it is fairly standard that mitre saws are 3.5 inches from the work surface. I will add this idea to the plans tomorrow
@TheHowtoDad

@@chrisaiello5230 that's easy to solve! Just put 3/4" shims under the saw to bring it up to 3.5 inches. This is really common practice for a lot of guys. But I'll still try to work it out
