Takes me back to my youth. Over 50 years ago I bought an old non runner James Cadet for 10 shillings (50p in todays money (UK) Stripped it down more or less like you did, the tank was rust free, I was learning as I went and I remember now the feeling of pride and excitement when it started up. Had some great times with it on the pit tip in the old mining village I grew up in. Looking forward to the test drive .

It got there in the end coming back to life it's a nice little bike . Was expecting the inner tubes to pop when you inflated the tyres , I would call that colour Maroon. Tell that man with the Trabant to stop leaving your tackle all over the place he's a bloody nuisance haha .

Jeg har købt en motorbecane 40t (modellen større end Cady) som har stået i 20 år. Motoren kører ligesom din sløvt rundt, så måske det også er stempelringene der er problemet. Jeg glæder mig til at gå i gang med den. God video!
On those the engine is on a pivot and should move backward and forward to alter the gear ratio. This was not happening so perhaps the pivot bolt is too tight? Also, my apologies if you did this already and didn't film it but when fitting different piston rings you should check the end gap. You put the loose ring into the cylinder and use the piston to push it so that it is in square. You then check the end gap with feeler gauges.
In Denmark they are restricted to 30kmt by law. Therefore the gear ratio system is removed and the engine is in a fixed position. Yes you are right about the piston ring... I should have, but it came from a used engine in the same size so I was not worried... But still, I should have... :)
White Vinegar is reasonable for price, Kills Rust, fill the tank with that. Guessing this is a two stroke engine, not a four stroke. That piston too me looks BAD, ideally a new piston and rings 👍👍👍👍 On Aliexpress you can buy home use sand blasters, might be worth looking into.

Those darned trabbie owners making a mess of people's garages!!! As for the bike, it sounds pretty smooth revving up, which is odd for a 2-stroke, at least to my ears anyway... :P
what a beauty!! but the engines are so troublesome. i reworked some of them and always the crankshaft seal was hardened, so they would run very unstable. but the biggest problem is the needle bearing of the crankshaft which runs in a sleeve thats press fitted into the casing. its usually worn out and there are no spares for the sleeve. the main bearing is a huge roller bearing on the same side of the crank - a little like solex, but worse. this setup causes the crankshaft always to tumble, because roller and needle bearing are very close. i dont want to discourage you, but in my eyes its a faulty design, made to run for some thousand km and then to be thrown away :/ the m3pr engine is slightly better with a 3rd bearing, but id always prefer av7 mobylette engines - which dont fit the m1 frame unfortunately.
Hey Adrian! :D Yes they are abit fragile in the design, but so far I have been lucky with them! :) And I really like to spend time in the garage so maybe its a good moped for me... ;) But thanks for the comment! Now I know a bit more about them...
I have seen an old VeloSolex moped in an auction nearby - Would it be worth it trying to get it for cheap and converting it to a quicker E-Bike with a conversion kit?

Citronsyre.... stået i to dage og derefter neutraliseret det med en blanding af vand og bagepulver... derefter skyllet igennem og tørret og omgående fyldt med olie og benzin blanding i ekstra fed... Det vil ruste meget hurtigt efter sådan en behandling uden olie tilført!
Jeg elsker dine videos, men jeg kan simpelthen ikke holde ud at se kameraet flakke omkring på den måde. Jeg har enda haft sådan en knallert da jeg boede i Korsør og ville meget gerne se lige den her video. Det er sagt i al velmening men jeg kan simpelthen ikke holde den der kameraføring ud, sorry!
