nice... I need to check this finger tracking with Oculus Quest 2 for my puppets.. thanks for the hint. Just curious, you can do hand tracking, without wearing the Quest 2 on your head ?
Im not sure, i did think that also, it would be cool if you could place the headset infront of you on a desk, i have the headset resting on top of my head so i can still get facial capture. I did see earlier that Mocap Fusion has a new puppet volumes feature that might be worth a look for more traditional puppet styles
@@DigitalPuppets mmhh.. yeah, I guess I have to look into this, when I find time. Currently I am using the Vive VR Controller WITHOUT the headset, that works perfect, however, no finger tracking .. -> with Valve knuckles/index controller, I also would have finger tracking, but it is limitied. (and to expensive for me at the moment) The difference between vive and Oculus is the Tracker... for oculus you have the tracker in the headset, just curious, if you can just hang it arround your neck..
Do you have to use the Quest headset to be able to use the trackers? I quite like using a webcam, but the LeapMotion/Ultraleap isn't designed to work very well in iclone (That's not Ultraleap's fault).
For this setup you need either a quest or vive headset, but its worth checking out www.dollarsmocap.com for webcam based mocap and check this out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uvLt6v6bV88.htmlsi=697en9Ut6Zwvu2li. Movap with just the gloves and the coil
Many thanks. I keep coming across Dollars although I know very little about the company. I also found the Rokoko AI mocap, but not sure if that would be a good "live" solution. I'm also not sure I have enough space to make use of that!
@@apricotdog ive just been testing out Dollars and it works really well, i just made this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RhoW0F7YWEI.html
YEah i will definetly make a tutorial on this, there are a bunch of tutorials on the mocap fusion website and the discord channel is really good too, but ill work on a step by step setup video :)
i havent tried exporting the motions to Iclone yet, but i imagine if you record them in Unreal you could export the motion, and i believe mocap fusion has a recording mode within the app, also its worth checking out www.glycon3d.com/
