Can you do a video, if you have not already, where you just go over each tool with a brief description of what it does? Or, if you already have a video like that, can you link it? Not a video on how to do something but, instead, a brief description of what each button or tool does. Kind of like how, in this one, you were going over the spline tools or whatever they were called.
I do not take on any freelancing work :) Your best bet to get work is to have a great portfolio and then advertise or reach out to people. You can also get work through a lot of freelancing-for-hire websites
Can’t wait to get stuck in to this. Love, love, love Mocha. As you said, the roto work is just so much cleaner in Mocha than AR. The masks it creates are far nicer. And yes, GPU accelerated removes! Removes are second only to roto for my work in Mocha. Just a quick question with regards to the remove module. Do all the layers still affect what’s underneath even if you hide them or deactive them?
Would be nice to see some up-to-date Mocha Pro 2019 / 2020 Tutorials with the New interfaces in the future please, Tobias. Thanks for all your hard work.
My comment is not related to this topic but ... Can you tell a full length tutorial on digital deageing without limiting it to professionals ? I just want to ask a intermediate tutorial as you always do.
I don't have those two export buttons on the lower left like you do. I've watched several tutorials hoping to figure out what I'm missing. I successfully track and go back to After Effects (as the others explained) I'm able to create AE masks, but not able to apply the data any other way. This is very frustrating. I know you were just doing an overview, but I look forward to something a bit more about taking the data back to AE. I've learned a lot from you. :)
@@SurfacedStudio Since I'm on a deadline with this project, I'm going to use the 2018 MochaAE for this short roto that's not even 3 seconds long. What I want to do works beautifully in there. I'm hoping I figure out what I'm missing in this new version at some point.

1:08 Ouch. It's a shame that both camera *and* software apparently have to be expensive. I'm not one to advocate software piracy, but at these prices... these software companies are asking for it. And the idea of software as a service/monthly subscription to software, ends up costing even more :/ Maybe towards the end of 2018 you can do a free or under $200USD video editing software special for those of us who aren't in the 1%? I'm sure you have something similar already, but I find those videos often need updating when I look at them :) Great video, thank you!
You can get it on a subscription and it drops to $295 USD / year :) I should probably have shown that in the video rather than the price of the once-off unrestricted license for Mocha Pro. But there are options. Also, After Effects (as well as HitFilm Pro) include a light version of Mocha (Mocha AE and Mocha HitFilm) that includes all of the tracking and roto tools - however, this version does not include all of the advanced modules
$295 should be the price. Not price per year. Not a fan of subscription/software as a service. It’s anti-consumer.. sorry, just not my thing. I’m into paying once, getting a disc, and 3-5 installs/activations before I have to buy another copy. To each their own..
Everyone likes it differently and there's nothing wrong with that :) I personally was pretty reluctant to go on subscription software at first (e.g. Adobe *cough*), but in the end I think it's working out cheaper than purchasing a new version every year. Though Adobe's prices have been creeping up disproportional to the disparity in currency between AU and US dollar...
You can purchase mochaHitFilm as an add-on for Express and it is included in HitFilm Pro - though with less features than the full Mocha Pro plugin. The Pro plugin comes as an installer and HitFilm supports it in the OFX format :)
I have Hitfilm Pro 4 which has Mocha but not the full version is there a plug-in I can get for that software which does what the complete software of your video version does?
@@SurfacedStudio Hello again I'm confused a plugin for OFX hosts what's that is that another software plugin for Hitfilm Pro? How would I install it into Hitfilm Pro? How much would it cost? An where do I get it? Or that part of the full version of Mocha?
Standalone = standalone application. Mocha Pro for Adobe / OFX = plugin to be used WITHIN a host application (e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects or an OFX host)
Depends on whether you prefer to use with a standalone application or from within After Effects or Premiere Pro. Personally because I don't share my projects with other people I prefer to just use the Mocha Pro for Adobe plugin - nice and integrated :)

When did I do that? I never promise what I will upload because I don't know what that will be :) Also, probably over a year ago I decided to do tutorials for Blender first before I go back to Houdini so that's why I'm now making Blender tutorials
Great video, maybe 2019 was great, but Mocha Pro 2021 sucks ass in reality. I have a bad day every time I use it, it's extremely slow on RTX cards and constantly talks back to me.
Might be worth contacting Boris FX about if you're having technical issues. I've been using 2021 for a while and haven't had any issues (except sometimes it can hang if I don't wait for the save in the plugin to complete before I return to AE). But been working well with my RTX card
