I’m so sick of all these Jimin comments. Hate to break it to you, but THIS IS NOT A K-POP VIDEO. I have nothing against Jimin, but please for the love of god let me read the comments without seeing another OMG JIMIN comment every two seconds.
Actually, most of these would fall into the category of Daifuku which is mochi stuffed with a filling. Like the ichigo Daifuku. For the ice cream mochi, only the outer layer would be mochi and the ice cream filling would make it into a Daifuku.

The trick with ice cream mochi is to freeze the ice cream hemispheres UNWRAPPED for 24 hours! Just freeze em at a set time you wanna make the mochi the next day. Also after you're done cutting the dough, FREEZE the mochi pieces for 1 hour before wrapping the ice cream and also wrap them in your freezer! Don't take the ice cream out of the freezer, it'll melt very easily lol
The good thing of Japanese traditional sweets is that they are tasty and gluten free at the same time:) My sister became allergic to gluten, and I was looking for a good recipes that makes her happy. The funny thing is that I didn’t realise that Japanese cuisine doesn’t use much gluten until I watch this video, even tho I am Japanese😂😂
_aapril. jungkookkk That’s what my mom thought when we went to go buy the ingredients for mochi today! Powdered sugar affects the flavor of mochi, that’s why people use cornstarch. Cornstarch doesn’t need to be heat treated and it’s like using flour to dough!
I made the flower shaped doughnuts when Rie and David their videos on it and I followed the recipe exactly but... They only held their shape when pressed together into a blob shaped flower and if it was like yours, when I took the parchment paper out they became doughnut holes.
I've had them get a bit too dry; if you make them a tiny bit wet with water on your hands they stick together fairly easily and keep the shape. Leave the paper on them and just fish it out of the oil after it releases.
@@KEisensmith I did the last half when I first did them but thank you for the water tip! I also used Google translate (bad ik) to tell if they wanted tea/tablespoon and it helped a lot
I have tried it, it can depend on the flavour of the ice cream (if you have the ice cream ones). I tried the strawberry ones and the cookies and cream ones from the My/Mo brand. The strawberry ones are better but hat is just my opinion 😋🍓
