love love love this, I'll take more in-depth talk per-team about scheme fits and positional flexibility over "YOOOOOO look at this INSANE new mock draft *airhorns*" content all day.
Hey Tate, you might want to update your Latu take a bit after the combine. He has a 9.19 RAS making him a top 10% athlete for the position with him testing in the top ten in the 40 yard dash, 10 yard split, and broad jump this year, and his arms were longer than most thought at 32.625 inches.
Hey Nate, if it helps, I fully believe Monti values RAS, metrics like arm length and hand size, positional versatility, and high character. Hope that helps a little.
Theres a reading of The Prestige where the cloning machine is a bit Angier comes up with - the scenes with it explicitly are all him monologuing or being read from his Diary.
Mock drafts are usually one of my least favorite ways to talk about the draft because usually they lack quite a bit in substance but this way of doing it works because you’re actually doing a lot of the prospect evaluation stuff as you go. So kudos.
Darius Robinson is also FROM Detroit. Speaking this into existence as a Lions fan. We might be able to get him in the 2nd round because of how he tested.
Ravens have a ton of holes. Never seen a team with SB aspirations have this many question marks. They can't fill every need with 2nd and 3rd tier FAs and rookies.
Give me the icy storytelling brilliance and formal rigor of Kubrick’s 2001 over the sub-Spielbergian sentimentality of Nolan’s cornpone Farmer-Matt-Goes-To-Space saga any day.
@@RKGrizznah I like some others too but in terms of grand SF statements by film directors the Nolan definitely feels like a case of exactly what Mays was talking about: an example of his reach exceeding his grasp. With Kubrick you get the feeling there’s almost nothing beyond his grasp as a filmmaker. I actually think Tenet is the best of his recent movies precisely because it doesn’t feel like he’s taking things overly serious - it’s mostly Christopher Nolan having fun instead of Christopher Nolan attempting to make important statements. Dunkirk was a dreary slog. Oppenheimer is much better and there some powerful moments and storytelling elements but I really resented some of the aesthetic choices. First of all, I resent being hammered over the head with a wall-to-wall soundtrack that has the music telling me exactly how to feel at every moment along the way: “here you’re to feel wonder” and “here you’re to feel sad”. Also, can you lock the gd camera in place for more than 2 seconds? I like camera movement as much as the next person but there’s gotta be some formal balance, especially in quieter scenes that call for reflection. The complete lack of stillness reminds me of a director (maybe at the behest of producers) playing to the comic book movie audience, where everything has to be over-caffeinated and turned up to 11.
Robert, how dare you disrespect Jaylen Watson, Nic Jones and Ekow Boye Dowe on KC😂😂? They’re good players and they have Dave Merritt coaching them up. Also, with Chris Jones’ deal, they’re not investing big time on interior DL anymore. They’ll roll out Buggs, Turk, Pennell and Nnadi. They can also kick Karlaftis and Omenihu inside on NASCAR packages.
For Samuel and the Bills - it's not the YAC guys, it's the Isaiah McKenzie "gadget" role that they've been trying to make work since Daboll was in town. For two years it was McKenzie, and then last year they tried it with Harty. This is a clear step up in caliber of player in that role, but that's the role (the Bills are HUGE on roles)
The 49ers absolutely have a need at right tackle. McKivitz graded out among the worst starting tackles in pass protection. And when you watch the tape you see why. He’s suited much better as a 6th/utility lineman than as a starter. Right guard is also a need. Center could absolutely use an upgrade. And left guard could absolutely use an upgrade as well because contrary to a lot of fans beliefs Aaron Banks hasn’t exactly set the world on fire either.
AD Mitchell’s movement skills are absurd. It really doesn’t make sense for a guy that long and that fast in a straight line to have the kind of lateral movement skills and overall fluidity that he does. Easily one of the very best athletes in this class. The guy is basically Silver Surfer but on a football field instead of a surfboard. There’s really not much he can’t do on a football field - he can get a little stronger for sure and he’s not a great tackle breaker and he has an annoying tendency to get tripped up by the turf monster (seriously, it happens way too much to simply dismiss). My real question with him though is how great does he want to be and how locked in will he be? Because there are times on tape where the effort is not what you want it to be. But if you can get it out of him, this guy has Canton-level movement skills and I mean that sincerely.
