Chicago is where QBs go to die. It’s the hardest place to be successful being a QB. It’s not a coincidence that they haven’t been able to develop a QB in the last 40 years

I’ve made the decision to watch your draft show ‘live’ this year. For the last few years I’ve watched PFF (I gave up on ESPN and the NFL’s coverage long ago). I’m really looking forward to Detroit.

As a pats fan I hate the notion that because our 2024 roster is bad we should punt on the possibility of drafting a franchise QB. We’re not drafting a QB for 2024 season we’re drafting for hopefully the next decade

The Pats are in worse shape now than they were when they busted Mack. You may want to run this theory by someone in Cleveland. In fact, they fired Belichick, too, didn’t they?

The only position group that is ready and could start a football game tomorrow for the Chargers is the offensive line. They don't have any corners in the room and they cannot run an actual three wide receiver set as the wide receiver room is currently constructed. Wide receiver is their pic if they stay at 5.

I think the talk about offensive tackles is a bit wrong in the sense that people are projecting them wrong in relation to QB situation. Rookie offensive tackles usually don't come in and play above replacement level in year one. We've had some exceptions in the last years, but Wirfs and especially Slater are still massive outliers. Anton Harrison was the best rookie tackle last year and he still allowed 5 sacks. He wasn't that great. It's a position you usually develop and grow into over a few years. So if we're talking about just a one year situation to drop a QB into, I don't think drafting OT in the first round is likely to even help you that much. It's a long term play anyway.
@AiyukIsHim
@AiyukIsHim 2 месяца назад
I agree however it’s my understanding this tackle class is really good (I’m not confident I’m my ability to evaluate a tackle so idk) just what people I respect have been saying
@Frostypower
@Frostypower 2 месяца назад
If I'm the Pats and I've shown I can't acquire and/or develop true no. 1 receivers, I'm just taking Marvin Harrison Jr. and ideally getting a QB later in the draft. There's just almost no projecting with him. I think the chance that the best WR prospect in the last decade develops into a top WR is just way higher than the chance your evaluation of QB3 over QB5/QB6 is so much better than the rest of the league. You're taking chances at that point anyway.
@radmilk73
@radmilk73 2 месяца назад
I’m wondering how much of that was A) Bill’s shitty approach to offensive scouting, B) the fact that their WR coaches kinda sucked? It’s mostly out with both of those things, so I’m cautiously optimistic there’s gonna be some improvement on that end.

Chargers need to trade Bosa, Mack, and Derwin James to get as much as they can for them before losing them to FA or releasing them outright.

Underrating the pats roster guys. The defense is very good. They need wr and tackle. Not everything needs to be solved in 1 season. I do agree with the sentiment that if its daniels available at 3 trade back, if its maye u pick him.

@@TheBottomLineView The defense is good, not elite. The offense is by far the worst in the league. You need about 4-5 pieces to even be middle of the pack and you have to hit on all of them.

Washington's offensive supporting cast isn't much better than New England's. Outside of Terry Mclaurin, the supporting casts are equally poor with a slight advantage to NE at TE. The idea that NE shouldn't pick a quarterback because they need a LT and a WR1 is crazy to me. This is the deepest WR and OT draft in recent memory! And if the situation is too dire for him to start, then fine! Sit him for a year.
@TheMattTrakker
@TheMattTrakker 2 месяца назад
Yeah, if you ignore the best player on Washington, it's much closer. Why tf would you do that though? Cope harder.
@brianp9268
@brianp9268 2 месяца назад
The pats trade back argument is just so bad. If theres a qb you take him. The chargers offense is pretty bad, should they trade herbert for some wrs? Yeah they need a LT and a #1 wr. No one is passing on a qb that could be great because of that. No one thought the texans offense was even close, but it turns out, qbs help offenses look better

Look at bryce young. Put in a bad situation and suffered for it. Same with Lawrence’s first season. I dont think daniels and maybe Maye is good enough to survive how bad the pats offensive roster is. Take marv and hope penix or nix is there at 35 i think.
@ThePenitentSquirrel
@ThePenitentSquirrel 2 месяца назад
Take it from a Bills fan who loves seeing you get crap kicked out you (not really I don't like bad football more), if you trade back you could have all the young tools so when you draft Shedeur Sanders or Quinn Ewers they don't get murdered. Common man we are in the same damn division as the Jets, the kings of destroying drafting young QB talent... David Carr for the old heads out there... F'king brutal.
@brianp9268
@brianp9268 2 месяца назад
@@cottoncandy7241 they can sit. You can take a player at the most valuable position and not just think about next year. Yeah Lawrence was in a bad position year one, so what is your point there? Would the Jags be better of having some draft picks and no Lawrence? You take the qb that can be great every time. The idea that the qbs stats changing how much better they get is madden stuff. Teams who take a shot at getting a qb are teams that get better. If you don’t think one of the top 2 guys would be in a good spot, then taking a 2nd round qb is even worse. Take a qb in the first or pass completely.

Jayden Daniels is the most overhyped QB to date. He has a below average arm, is thin and doesn't have the not take a hit instinct he needs, and isn't a scrambler. Only makes sense for Vikings as a on rookie contract starter. Fields is bigger, has a better arm and has better experience at same age essentially.

This is my biggest issue with draft content. It is always exclusively talking about the same content over and over. Top 5 picks, 1st rd prospects, the number 1 pick, Best QB . Never a deep dive into beyond the 1st 32 picks. Such a huge market out there for content untouched smh
