This was verified to work by the experts on the ReSwitched Discoed server and confirmed by the creation of this video, everything works great! Edit 2: I don't know how I managed to record, edit, post, then go two plus weeks without realizing I called a USB-C cable a micro USB cable 😐 Edit 3: this method is for a V1, low serial number Switch. This WILL NOT work on a patched Switch. I've included a link in the video description for a serial number checker to make sure your switch is compatible.

if you had nothing on your sd why did it take 2hrs to backup emmc raw gpp? it took me 10 minutes, also why create backups twice just to delete the original? can you not back up the two options THEN backup? 1.55 i appreciate the speed of the tutorial to making a quick jailbreak video but you didn't mention that the +/- navigates lockpick options i had to youtube a separate tutorial for it

Very helpful, used to get my homebrew up and running. I wanted to let you know that you can't have "Cold Storage" because of a thing called bit rot will corrupt all your data. Keeping it pulled into a computer/server is the best way to prevent data lose

Subbed, Modding a switch has been on my go to list for a while, I had an Oled when they first came out and i didn't know where to look but I'm buying a v1 to mod just to be safe and I'm also testing my ADHD with soldering so I can possibly install chips in the future, I've always loved tech so i think it could keep me busy even in non profit. but for now I'm taking all the information in that i can, and you have given in depth. It's defiantly a topic i wouldn't talk to my friends about.

As for soldering, I definitely can't help you there, but there are some great resources online to get you started. Might be worthwhile to start with an easier chip if possible, OG Xbox being an easy recommendation. Also, if you need help modding any other consoles, be sure to check out some of my other tutorials! I had a pronlem with the Boot file so i had all my games themes ETC on my switch so i just placed the files that he said and DINT replaced the old ones and IT WORKED thanks dude a LIFE SAVER! 5 mins only?! WOW

Hey there! Odd scenario; Mmy Switch got banned just now but I never modded it, it was pre-modded (V1), and I don't care for EMUMMC and never used. If I'm modding a Switch just to be able to use Sysnand (I just like to make my own Pokemon with PKHex), would it be fine to stop at 1:12? I would just be using JKSV and nothing else. Thanks!

Technically you don't need to set up an EmuMMC, but I would still highly recommend doing so. It's the best way to prevent bricking and to recover from a brick if anything were to go wrong down the road. Your call though, if you have the availability it's well worth the peace of mind!

I totally agree with you, the big reason for this was because it was primarily intended for Tiktok, as RU-vid refuses to monetize my channel 🤷‍♂️ if down the road RU-vid finally decides to work with me, I'll be sure to make a follow up for whatever the latest firmware is!

First of all, very grateful to have stumbled on your video! you made it super easy! I did however run into an issue with launching atmosphere in emummc. Loading atmosphere on sysnand is flawless but I'm getting a 'unknown pkg1 version HOS version not supported failed to launch hos' error when trying to launch in emummc. I followed your instructions to the T but somehow cant get this portion to work. Can anyone help please?

Thanks for watching, I'm glad to hear you found it useful! 😁👍 It sounds like you ran into the same error I did when I was trying to boot into Atmosphere the first time, just to verify are you running the latest version of both that, the Fusee.bin, and using the latest hakate payload? How odd that it happened on the emuMMC specifically 🤔

@@doitallYT I think it's an issue with my SD card not being able to properly create the emummc. as I've done a ton of do-overs to make sure hekate and atmosphere are all current and I still run into the same issue. I'll try on a different SD Card and hope for the best. Thanks for the guide though, it was perfect!

Aaand yes, it was a fake sd card. It had trouble with creating the emunand, thus the issue only when launching cfw on emummc. Confirmed as I tried on a different sd card and had no problems with it. Your guide was spot on!

So i did everything exactly how you said, and I hit launch on new version of hekate it shows the atmosphere logo for a second, then just black screens forever and i have to hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off. Cant manage to get out of this situation, even after deleting the folders and replacing them with new files. Any tips? My switch was modded for the longest time and then i updated to 17.1 a while ago and it kinda messed everything up. Now im trying to fix it but not really having any luck.

unpatched switches only, and because of the jailbreaking/hacking getting popular you'll get jerks selling unpatched switches for alot on ebay, even dumpster fire ones with no joycons and looks old

Is the "patched" switch still not hackable? if something gets patched from being exploited all that needs to happen is a new exploit be discovered. XAW10112 is still not doable?

That's up to you, it really depends on your particular use case. I plan to only use mine offline and modded it before creating any saves, so my useful probably look different than yours. Good luck either way! 😁👍

im guessing dbi isnt working for me because im on 17.0.1? im trying to install some back up xcis and nsp files and it says no es sigpatches is it because 17.0.1 isnt supported? any work arounds to this? edit: i forgot to load fusee and now tinfoil loaded hahaha got a couple games installed now on emulated firmware

Can you mod the switch in custom firmware to overclock. Then just run your games normal in regular vanilla firmware for thr overclock boost?

My recommendation; start with something easier, like a Wii, PS3 or an Original Xbox. They'll teach you a majority of the basics you'll need before tackling a longer mod like this. Once you've gotten your hands dirty with one system, all of the rest seem a lot less scary ✌️😎 I've also got some 60 Second Modding videos on all three of those systems, check out the playlist on my channel if you want to learn more 😁👍

Funny you mention that, I recently picked up a soldering kit and started playing around with it. Even got the microscope setup! Come to find out; I still can't solder for the life of me 😅 I was able to handle a small kit that I bought for practice, but then when I got to the important stuff (trying to TSOP an Original Xbox) I failed pretty horribly. I can see myself being able to 'maybe' install a pin header with some practice, but anything that involves soldering a small point is way out of my skill set. Maybe one day! 🤞

The 128gb is $15-$20, a 64gb is $12-$15, id definitely go the 128gb route! And if you want to future-proof it, you can grab a Silicone Power 1tb microSD (the same I use in my Switch Modding video) for $60 on Amazon, a heck of a value that you'll struggle to run dry 😎👍

Depends on the issue, you might be able to get away with one of those laser cleaning discs, otherwise unless you know the force and a bit of teleportation I don't have a good solution for that 🤷‍♂️ sorry dude

Depends on the song you're singing; "I'm Free" by the Rolling Stones would be a good choice, while that LOLLimewire song might get you in some hot water 😬 In all seriousness though; I personally use this offline and wouldn't recommend someone use a modded Switch online, but I do know that there are methods to make the process safe. I'm pretty sure the guide that I linked in the video description covers that though, good hunting! 😎👍

128gb should be plenty! Though if you get a chance, id DEFINITELY recommend a larger card! You'll be surprised how quickly the space gets filled up!

I would say the process itself is super easy to do, the only difficult part is the total number of steps and time to complete those steps. Backing up the sysMMC for instance took a couple hours. The good news is, you do it once and then you don't think about it again while reaping the rewards 😁👍 for instance, I really like that I can use just about any control or I want on the system now, huge money saver!

@@itsrobloxhere even then, you still have to go through most of the steps here. Hard mod is performed because the RCM jig can only be used on v1 Switches.

IMO not all steps here all necessary. Some are only safety precautions to back up your system files or optional settings for making booting up easier. Here's an easier version : 1. Format your SD card in fat32 2. Put down the HATS pack there 3. Put on the RCM jig in the Switch and connect it to the PC 4. On your Switch, create an EmuMmc (actually, partitioning your SD card isn't necessary) 5. Open up Emunand And that's it!

Around the 2:27 mark, for some reason the Tegra RCM GUI Now Just Registers As Not Having A Rcm, Despite Everything else before that point working completely fine. any idea why?

That's pretty weird 🤔 I assume you've tried reseating the RCM Jig, restarting the Switch and trying again, and checking your connection over USB? Could also be worth swapping the USB cable. Hope one of these works for you!

So this might be a silly question. I have the 29GB partition made on a 128GB SD card and everything is on the 29GB partition and nothing is on the other 89GB. How do I use the other partition for storage? or what can I move to the larger partition?

Go to System Settings, System, then Serial Information, you should have all the info you need there 😎👍

lol i was down until i saw you had to format the sd im not restarting my pokemon saves an third time. i suppose i could keep the og sd card safe and use a different sd for all this

Definitely go the new SD card route! You can always transfer your stuff to the new SD card and preserve the original one 😎👍

@@doitallYT yea it would be the only way I do it. I made the mistake of buying a cheap sd card and it corrupted all my Pokémon saves which dubble sucks because some of my best friends named the characters in it so it was super special at the time because it was in the middle of covid and we would hangout in video call a lot and they named my character and now we just have gotten so busy things change and I haven’t heard from them in years so it was upsetting for the saved to get deleted in sutch a stupid way. I have sense beaten them all again but I am not playing through legends sw sh and brilliant diamond again for a third time and especially not back to back like I had to do.

@@doitallYT if I formate the new sd card only the old sd card info will be completely safe all saves everything? If so I would do it otherwise nah cuz I’m not restarting my saves again. Also I think the video says the GameCube emulator Is not the greatest and I only wanted to mod it to mod twilight princess and windwaker on it so I wouldent have to buy an Wii U to play all Zelda games

Make sure that the drivers are installed properly, I would go through and uninstall it and then reinstall them just to make sure. Also, with the RCM shake in place and the Switch powered off, when you hold the volume up button press the power button does the screen remain black? If so, you're definitely in RCM mode, which leaves the PC (likely the drivers) as the culprit. Hope this helps!

That isn't likely to actually happen. I find the RCM method extremely stable, you can even let the console's battery die and it still wakes back up after being recharged. The only caveat is that you need an unpatched V1, so you don't get the battery improvements of the V2 revision

It's actually really easy. The way to do it in this video is needlessly complicated. I mean I understand that he might want to do it for the sake of safety, so everything will get backed up and stuff but I honestly think it's not really worth it.

In reality the process is much easier. 1. Take your SD card, format it (Fat32 format) 2. Put there the files from the HATS pack 3. Put the RCM jig and connect to PC 4. Open up TegraRCMGui and send the hekate payload 5. On your Switch, create an EmuMmc and then open up your EmuNand 6. DONE!

At 1:11, when I click inject payload, all seems succesful but I get a black screen on my switch and do not see the Hekate screen. Any idea why and what needs to be revised? Thanks in advance

I am having the same issues as well. I saw in another video when you click on the inject payload and it states "smashed the stack with 0x7000 Byte setup" this means the switch is unpatched therefore if it shows anything other than this I guess our switches are patched even though they are V1

Hey i think overall It's a nice guide and it does have a lot of useful steps but I think that it's too complicated and some steps are unnecessary good beginners. I've just used the hats pack and I've never backed up the keys.

Thanks for the guide. It would have been easier to update Hekate and atmosphere right from the start, but thats just the way it goes. Unfortunately the instructions did not well for me, but there can probably be many reasons for that. I stopped at the AutoRCM andjust we When entering the Album, the switch simply just crashes. I dont expect an answer, but if somebody knows why then please send info my went with the standard way by injecting fussee...

I totally get where you're coming from, cutting out that error and skipping straight to the updates would have definitely saved a little bit of time. The reason I left it in is to show a bit of troubleshooting, sometimes things like that come up (like in my PS2 modding video) that some people might freak out if they see. I figured if I leave the error message in to show that these things happen, that it might encourage people to start digging around for a solution 😎👍 As for what happened on your's, I don't have an answer for that right off the bat. Don't enable auto rcm! It's created for unpatched switches. Your switch doesn't need it. Yes your switch is patched that's why you even needed a modchip.

It doesn't sound like your switch is in RCM mode, try the button combo again with your RCM jig inserted and hope for the best. Also be sure to verify your switch is RCM compatible. Good luck!

I followed all the steps and the emulator portion does not come up and when i look at my settings they reverted back to normal and does not even contain the ams anymore, please someone help!
