In this video I am cleaning and conserving a Model 1905 bayonet from 1913. This bayonet was manufactured by the Rock Island Arsenal and was designed to fit the 1903 Springfield rifle.
@@johnshandloading7907 absolutely! The Ordnance corp's Flaming shell is the oldest emblem in the US army. As a Mechanic I was proud to wear it 20 years!
I have one from my Grand Father in similar condition. It has 1902 stamped on one side and US on the other. My handle has 2 screws or pins on the handle. I'm leery of messing around with it. If I can find the barrel adapter for my 1903 it should work. Anyone have one out there?
I don't think so. I would have to do some searching on line. It may fit if the lug recess is the same. We looked up all the info back when we first got it. It is a neat piece of history.
Yes it will. M1905s were also produced for the M1 Garand and most of them were eventually cut down to the size of the M1 bayonet. The only difference between the original 1905s and the world war 2 produced 1905s were the grips and scabbards.
