This is the full unedited drive on to my old forced 180 turn testing area.
Interesting results for the 180 degree turn and funny situation it got itself into after I completed the turn. I don't consider that a problem but I let it play out to see how FSD Supervised handled the situation.
Only intervention was to push it to creep forward for a right turn on red and then to proceed once clear.

Tesla FSD V12 drives are getting duller and duller which is a great thing! Thank you so much for making this video. I hope that I will get this version of FSD in my car very soon!

This version seems to finally leave a larger gap in front in heavy traffic. That's great. Means smoother ride, safer ride and less harsh braking necessary if the car in front does some heavy braking. It allows also for more economic driving, as the ego car makes more use of regen if the car in front stops, as it can do this slower. Great progress there. :)

Leaving large gaps in heavy traffic will result in getting honked, cursed, flipped off at in some places, like SoCal LOL

@@duncansosso8010Many times drivers should really leave large gaps especially in stop and go traffic which allows you to keep a steady rolling speed without propagating the stops and deceleration. Screw the fools that don't understand this. Ive been driving this way for years in so cal and generally do not get hassled.

@@duncansosso8010I can see that being the case for sure but lots of accidents happen due to not allowing enough following distance. It’s a people problem unfortunately.

@@maxsteele1 100% agree. Good luck conveying that logic to a bunch of buffoons on the road, however.

Didn't see many challenging/unusual streets. Looking forward to trying it here in Oahu. Seems like all the streets on this island are wonky or under construction.

It looks like you could really enjoy it with this version. No nag, just an optional accelerator push here and there, and you are at the destination.

I took a Waymo in San Francisco this weekend. Game over. They are WAY ahead of Tesla. The whole experience feels completely safe with far less errors, and a MUCH more comfortable follow distance, acceleration, deceleration, and maneuvering.

From what I see, it looks so much better than version 12.3.6. I have been waiting for 12.4.x for several weeks now and I wonder why it is not yet available here in Canada. Any idea?

The only critique I would mention is not yielding for the person trying to change lanes. That is something nice you can do but it is not something you are required to do. The people that piss me off the most are the people who intentionally stay in an ending lane knowing it is ending and expect you to just make space.

2:23 if any FSD tester ever complains again about the slow acceleration, just show them this merc speeding up ;D

Just watched a video of 2023 Lexus ES and the assist couldn't even stay straight in its lane on the highway. Tesla is just so far advanced to competitors it's not even close

Tesla's 'advanced' FSD does not work properly. It is 100% Supervised, when Elon promised Self Driving. That was 8 years ago.

@@DerekDavis213 Who cares about Elon's promise? He is a CEO, selling the dream, and has done something incredibly amazing that no one thought was possible. Come take a drive here in Southern California 25% of the cars on the road are Teslas and that is not an exaggeration. You will see them lined up at every stop light. The bottom line is his FSD is 10x better than the next competitor. I own Tesla stock but not a Tesla.

Good video style. You took the absolutely least challenging route, though. I'm looking for the areas that 4.3.1 failed, like construction zones, lane changes where the middle line wasn't crisp, highway shenanigans (esp. in LA!). Perhaps that's in different video.

Still waiting too late to start decelerating especially when going fast downhill forcing full regen and friction brakes. 0:33 1:20 7:20

Curios why it is improper to do a lane change in an intersection (as you noted) so long as you have a clear view into the lane you are turning jnto and can see that there are no cars slowing down to make a turn. Is it illegal to do so?

Tesla could install an enjoyment lever. the pessenger/driver uses the lever to communicate his satisfaction level. Tesla could use this data to fine-tune their systems. It would be a simple yet powerful way to involve customers directly in the iterative process of vehicle development and refinement.

How does it perform at night with rain and low visibility?
@thepizza123
@thepizza123 3 месяца назад
Can't speak to version 12.4, but 12.3 does fine in the rain, it limits it's max speeds and beeps, but drives just fine even in pretty heavy driving rain. At night the car drives fine, but will ultimately turn off entirely when the inside camera can't see you, which is annoying. It will control headlights to enable and disable high beams.
@DerekDavis213

FSD does not have Radar, or Lidar, or Ultrasonic sensors. So of course performance at night, rain, or fog is going to *suffer* .
