I'm just curious, Mr.Russell said exactly the contrary to what is said on the official web site about this model: "Pacific Asian Enterprises (PAE) has expanded the Nordhavn line with the addition of the Nordhavn 96. This new design looks to serve as a stepping stone between the large cruiser and megayacht categories. For the enthusiast who is seeking megayacht-like style and features in a boat that is still able to be managed WITH NO - OR MINIMAL - CREW, the Nordhavn 96 is the ideal solution." And Mr.Russell named 3 (THREE) skilled crewmembers necessary to operate the boat, which equals to about $200.000 a year in wages & benefits only! Not a little diference, is it? Where is the truth? Is the crew a recommendation or a legal requirement? Is the 96 is still below the superyacht class with all its bureocracy and regulations?
Hi Paul, good point. I was told to keep it to 2 minutes but ended up being over 5! When you do win the lottery email me at sales@nordhavneurope.com. Good luck
@@neilrussell1937 No prefer to sail just as a couple, perhaps with guests occasionally, beside I do like the 76. The 41 engine spec, with a 76 sounds good though
I really don't see the difference between a 76 and a 86 on handling the vessel as owner operator without a crew, because you have suddenly "superyacht type of equipment, and enginering".... i mean if you know how to operate and engineer it, you can operate and engineer it?! i'd say 2 people (both with proper knowledge to operate) like a couple is the bare minimum IMO. And that is only to keep it fun and keeping watch in turns on long passages. I operate a 98 feet bunker Barge alone daily without bow/stern thrusters and a single engine and prop witch a lot heavier (loaded) and has way less horspower (370hp). so for 10 feet or a couple more vessel, you and i can just keep on dreaming about a Nordhavn 86, 96, or even a 100 for that matter.
@@annottobay i don't see the problem either, a couple who knows how to operate her can set sail on a 86 just fine indeed. Do you know witch Nordhavn 86 the couple you mentioned is?
