Model ship railings are some of the most delicate and fiddly jobs there are when you are making models from scratch, along with rigging ( but that's another video!)
Delicate and precision work can be made easier by setting up your workbench beforehand as I did...I drew out a plan of the size and length and width of the railings, as well as all the welding points. All of my tools were to hand, and my materials were cut and ready to use.
Work slowly and carefully, no rush, and get everything lined up and pinned. Prepare each section before you weld/solder with the welding paste. When you join the short sections to the longer steel wires, try not to use too much material, and not too little, just enough to hold it firmly in place. This will make your job easier, later when you file it flat and neaten the corners with a square file.
Enjoy the process, this can be a very satisfying job to do.
As always, good luck and see you in the next video.
