Maiden voyages of model rockets manufactured by a variety of model rocket companies and built by ‪@mobrockets‬ over the last year: Quest "Antari," Apogee Components "Wayfarer," Custom Rocket Company "Voyager," Bad Boy Rocketry "Estes Yellow Jacket" clone, Bad Boy Rocketry "Quest X-15" clone. Perfect early Fall day at McQueen Park in Gilbert, AZ. My favorite Phoenix-area park for flying. Who's better than we model rocketeers are? NO BODY!

Nice simple flights and great field (grass) for doing so!! That nose cone of the X-15 seems to interfere a bit with the launch lug/rod. Perhaps the launch lug needs a bit of standoff?

Great flights Mike! All landed under a safe chute/streamer and can be flown again (not everyone can say that today…..😂). That makes for a perfect day! I appreciate your care for the esthetics as well, beautiful rockets there! I saw what Michael C said in his comment and I tend to agree, in fact, maybe it’s just my imagination, but the nose cone appeared to be upside down. I believe the yellow stripe on the tail is the top, so the canopy should have been on that side as well. But hey, you’ve got a better batting average than I have………. so I’ll keep quiet now. 😊. I was thinking about your rocketry work, Kevin, after watching your latest video. I realized that I am a total traditionalist while you are an experimenter! Which is awesome. Your work pushes me to do more than just build to spec - at least once in a while… As for the nose cone being upside down, you certainly could be right. I’ll watch my video and see what’s up. I add so many extra steps in launching when filming that I prob inverted the nc… Could be the reason for when any of the real X-15s crash landed 😂…

Man, you were right about the X-15 nose cone being upside down. What a dope! 😒 Stuff like that bugs me. I guess I’ll need to fly it again, correctly!

Nice field. I hope the neighbors don't harass you. The only reference I could find is McQueen Park A & B Engines only 100-200ft clearance

Indeed - McQueen Park is limited to As and Bs only. A few parks around here allow up to Ds. And the neighbors have been very nice! And home when I knock on their doors, which is a plus... It's by far my fave park to launch and it's close to the same size as your main park! But no way can I launch here the stuff you launch there...
