I think focusing on concept artists is a good choice, this type of modelling would be the normality with new technologies. For example, games with ue5 and auto retopology and remesher. You're doing an incredible job, thanks!
incredible Nick. two weeks into using Plasticity and just "discovered" drawing a box, in edge selection mode {2}, thru the vertical edges to rapid select. genius sir! thank you brother! onward....
It looks fantastically simple to use ! As a Fusion360 user, I'm looking forward to your modeling tool. Are you planning to add the possibility to control the dimensions of the sketched lines, etc?
@@nickkallen1 You can use it as a guiding tool to draw your lines. You just click, choose x y or z, and input the distance. I said it powerful because it makes architectural modeling really easy. I mostly used the program for wood working, and the tape tool was my most used tool along with the pen tool. Implementing it will make the Plasticity more generally used in other fields. Good job and good luck.
I met Alex Senechal a few years ago, he is such a cool guy. It would be nice to get in touch with him if you haven't already, to get his input on Plasticity. He knows Fusion like no other and I think it would be beneficial for the software to have his input
Thanks for this tutorial Nick. I am really looking forward to learn this software ;) I have a question regarding getting the "slots"in version 1.0. Where can I find this? Thanks
amazing work! Wondering if you will or can add an option to the 'cutter' in the dialog box make an option for fillet/chamfer to any edges that were cut during the cut process?
Great Job! You modeling environment looks easier and even more intuitive to use than Fusion 360, especially the fillets and I also love the symmetry option you have in the solid model space. Can I download and test the Beta somewhere? PS I am a systems architect so I would not mind at all to have a look at the source code, and if I see something I believe I may be able to improve, help with that too, git?
This is excellent! And while not SUPER-simple, it's probably as good as it gets for CAD-like modeling. Now, any advice for us mere mortals as to how to *_install_* the software from GIThub? It's all Swahili to me! ;)
Awesome program!!! Thank you very much for this! Please tell me, is it possible to import OBJ format from other programs, like Block Mesh for proportions like for example in MOI 3d? Once again a big THANK YOU!!!
Can you freeze the geometry as you create it, so it can not be accidentaly deleted, modified or moved - which would be basicaly a substitute for assembly constraints?
I love the ease of use. My problem is I downloaded but not sure how to run the program. What do you have to do to install plasticity on windows. Please help
Hello! is youtube the best place to get updates about your progress? or do you have other social media that we can follow. This program looks amazing. Great work!
Yeah this is the best place. I post to RU-vid every 2-3 weeks. On discord, for beta testers, I post a video every couple days, showing every small change, more advanced features, etc.
@@nickkallen1 I wonder if this program will be free or paid? Will there be a boolean slice and split? And will there be editing of surface control points like in rhino or moi3d? Will there be tools to deform geometry (bend, twist, taper and ect.)?
@@koverpet220 tentatively I'm planning to charge $20 for the app, and the front-end will be open source. Some of those features you mentioned will eventually be available ... The focus is on concept artists and their needs so I'm not building a kitchen sink cad app
Yes I definitely want to release it. I’m optimistic about opening the beta to the public in February. For now I have a few people testing it, helping me to decide what to build, etc.
