@heckinmemes6430 Yeah! Let's go meme troops. Maybe we could get meme troops on horses because we don't have any troops on horses and maybe we could get meme troops with large field ordnance guns because we don't have any field ordnance guns either. Perhaps we could get meme troops in strange variants of the Leman Russ because we also only have 7 types of Leman Russ. I'm hoping we get some meme troops with artillery because 10th has just been the best edition to take artillery.
@@WallD25 I mean if you play space marines you will just get a brand new range refresh but if you play a faction like harlequins then yeah you should be sweating
I mean there's potential here. Regular Catachan, Snipers, maybe Devils (Not the insect, but the units named after it) and ofc their sentinel variant (upgrade kit?). That's only old stuff (and I left out the weapon teams), they could also come up with new things. Fragged comissars maybe... (More seriously, new Ogryns would fit here).
GW has been shoving a hard wedge in-between 40K and Horus Heresy. We'll be seeing the Malcador Infernus and Marauders in plastic for sure as Solar Auxilia units, but only getting Legends rules for 40K.
I made sure to get a lynx before the inevitable cull. Although I will be eagerly waiting for the Eldar codex to drop and all those tournament players to start shifting their shadow spectres, since 10th I haven't played GW rules anyway so I hope to be able to pick some up at a reasonable price.
@@theinternetofrandomthings7796 I would just go to 3d printing if all you want is models for different games way cheaper and most of the time better quality
The Space Marine Recruit Box set is such a hell no in terms of price. Remove 10 gaunts and replace them with 5 paint, but then charge 25$ more compared to the Target SM2 box price of 40$?
The lack of 40k support and releases has me in a "boycott spending on gw atm" feeling. Mabe after the start of year it won't be so bad. But for now my hobby cash is going elsewhere.
@@343killedhalo4 Can you recommend anywhere? Building models is the part of 40k I hate the most (love painting though), so anywhere with pre-built models would be a godsend for me.
@@sumisu_senpai_6280 I buy all my models 2nd hand from a site called troll trader, I'm in America and I average about 1/3 off retail buying from them. You do need to check it regularly if you're looking for something specific, but they add models every weekday.
@@saturnianlotus8343 so I bought over 3000pts of models for age of sigmar recently then they updated the game and removed every single one of the models that I have purchased from the game so I would expect for your specters to be removed
There's always the hope that they will replace the resin ones with plastic when, the other aspect warriors get updated with the codex. Fingers crossed here.
They’re getting models, same with Aeldari, T’au have received some lately, Emperor’s Children and World Eaters getting model ranges likely next year. Please stop raging.
@@BreadTeleporter1968 No, people have very good reason to rage with the mass removal of awesome models and characters, especially since a lot of the new stuff is incredibly mid or just plain awful for 40k lately.
I feel space marines are getting fucked over in a diferent way. Theres barely any hype for space marine releases. They just remove the firstborn varient that everyone likes and then replace it with a primaris version nobody cares for.
@BreadTeleporter1968 I respect people who like primaris but I will die on the hill of disliking them. They made me turn my back on the emporer's light and join the way drippier ruinous powers.
If they wipe out Straken I'm going to be pissed. I love the Straken model and what he's always done for the Guard. I also run a themed Catachan army with great success.
@@dbones8795 Straken is FAR more than just a captain. Him not having unique rules and being able to be bought is just flat out removing cool things. Why not get rid of Lion and say "just use a Marine captain?" then?
Malcadors are in Horus Heresy,. so they will be taking it away since GW wants nothing in HH to be in 40k, and vice versa. It's shit, but thats what they're doing.
I miss the "who would win?" videos on the channel 💔I'm genuinely curious about how would the current models and datasheets in 10th would rank in some 1v1 duels AT used to break down in the previous editions.
Shadow Spectres are a huge blow to Aeldari's identity and maybe the biggest blow out of all miniature removals ever. Aspect Warriors are the heart of an Aeldari army and very central to their identity. Let's hope for a plastic kit that includes the Phoenix Lord as an alternate build option. They should do this with all Aspect Warriors as it seems they have huge trouble maintaining the character models for Aeldari as well. I still have the Codex with Nuadhu Fireheart (Saim-Hann leader) and Iyanna Arienal (Iyanden leader) who never even got models :D
>Shadow Spectres are a huge blow to Aeldari's identity and maybe the biggest blow out of all miniature removals ever. Tf are you talking about lmao. They have like 0 lore and I've seen them literally once on the table playing competitively for 10 years.
I’m considering returning to 40k since my middle school days… that was when 3rd edition was the game. What factions/subfactions seem to stand the test of time in terms of game rules? I don’t mean the meta, I mean, not having units or weapons deleted from the game or have rules make your army not legal? I’d like anything I build to have more likelihood of still being legal for 11th edition and beyond
I converted one and am about 2/3 of the way through painting it . . . fortunately I don't play 10th anyway, easily my least favourite edition (out of the ones I have played, which is 2nd and then 8th - 10th).
I got the last Hornet, Shadow Spectres and Scorpion from Warhammer World and was very happy for it. Glad also I’m actually modelling them and it didn’t go to an eBay seller grifter.
Same. The minute they got rid of subfaction rules I could tell I was wise to stick with 9th, and all the crap they've done since has vindicated my decision all the more.
@@jameskurth3560where, if you wouldn't mind sign-posting? My play group have written our own but I am always on the lookout for inspiration and ideas.
Why do they do this? I’m new to this hobby but I’d be pissed if this happened to me. It seems like they just want to charge their customers more for access to less
They want to cater to tournament players who constantly buy new models to chase the meta. They don’t want to allow anything in the game that they don’t currently sell. The era of the game where hobbyists slowly built armies over years and got attached to them are long gone.
Money aside, they also can't realistically produce enough from their one factory- there's not enough machines nor time to produce the sheer quantity of models, some stripping back is to be expected as their other ranges expand
@@Dram1984not just tournament players. The majority of the player first hobbyist second crowd wants the uber balance and that’s impossible with a massive range, especially when some things aren’t always available. But I do miss the day of knowing my minis would always have some rule support and not worry about them being optimal or not.
I have three hornets and a scorpion my most prized models this sucks to be honest i was hoping to get a lynx before they did this but guess im too late
It definitely will, at least if it is also in Heresy (which I think it is?). GW obviously have a policy of making sure you can't play both games with the same set of models.
The jump packs season of Kill Team is not happening. Valrak was wrong about that. Only one half of Hivestorm can actually fly & that’s balanced by them being glass cannons. Flying is very OP in Kill Team - they’re not going to throw 4-6 new teams of flyers into the mix because it would utterly destroy game balance.
I may have gotten the last bombard, drill, and Earthshaker in North America because they went down right after my orders. I couldn't believe the rules for the bombard, they're absolutely awful.
They should have at least kept the super-heavy gravtanks… I’m going to paint my Wraithseer and WarpHunter next. I don’t care that they are going legends. They look beautiful and will work perfectly as proxies.
The titus box: Titus, 10 termas and 1 absorberswarm 5 Colors, brush, stuff cost 55 €. And the other box which only sold at retailers cost 30 € for titus, 20 termangants 2 absorber and stuff like dices and board. for 55 € you nearly get 2 for 30€
Guess we can only play cadian now. These forge world units were what drew me to guard. I was already gutted when they purged elysians droop troops, now all these vehicles. I'm sick of gee dub selling us models and then removing the rules.
Surprised to loose the two superheavy grav tanks. Not happy about any of them getting legended, but I was hopping the heavy grav and superheavies would stay. Given most of our new models and releases in the past 20 years where FW.
I wish GW would figure out that they can actually profit from 3D printing and sell STLs for the Forge World ranges they've removed where it's not economically viable to get new tooling to make them in plastic. But they'd probably try to implement some bizarre one-print-per-purchase DRM somehow... :(
I own a lot of the Eldar models on the removed list. I'll still run them as legends in casual games, or as proxies for their plastic cousins. The only thing that really irks, is that the Imperial Knights get 20 odd types. But Eldar can't have 3? So. Very. Cold GW.
I am sad I really wanted to build and paint up a marauder bomber... I did at least get a few of those sexy flier kits. Even if they will never be in game viable.
Why did they slaughter they Aeldari range??! They nerfed all the elite infantry to encourage us to use Phoenix Lords with them- THEN REMOVED THE PHOENIX LORDS? WHY?!
The crappy stat lines for Eldar infantry is because GW can't write rules for shit and 10th is a radioactive garbage fire. I very strongly suspect that Jain Zar and Maugan Ra will still be available as they have new sculpts, the others have been removed because they are releasing new models for them with the new wave of Eldar releases in 2025 . . . allegedly except for Karandras, because the rumour is they actually forgot him. Which does kind of sum up how GW treat Eldar in general.
I really hope we are getting more catachan models! I would be sickened if they removed catachan as a official options for guard players. Also as a note: "sold out online" means absolutely nothing these days in the US. It could mean the models are gone forever (as it used to be) but recently I have noticed a few "sold out online" randomly getting restocked. It's possible people return items that get sold or shipments show up late. I have even called about this inconsistency but it is treated like the items will never restock. My example being FW Van Saar Ashe waste upgrades have said "sold out online" and been restocked a few weeks later until they sold out again. That specific kit is barely 10 months old before they discontinued it. Wow looking back I guess I'm venting in YT comments, yikes.
That sorcerer is cool, but it does look like it was slapped together using AoS bits. Nice to see a new option for a bale fire tome, I guess (if anyone takes it as wargear that is)
Was the SM2 box really $65? I got the target edition for like $39 on ebay and sold the termagants to a buddy for $30 so i got Titus for like $9 in the end sheesh.
I think the recruit edition box is definetly a worse deal, I bought that box for 30€ here in Germany. Thats Titus + 20 Termagants + 2 Ripper Swarms. This seems like a massive downgrade in both value and contents for anyone that already plays, even for new players I think, cause the other starter/introduction sets feel like better deals than this.
Pretty sure they wont get a model refresh, because the story in 40k went on about 100 years and as they are still normal humans, they are simply dead or too old to fight. Thats also why Ursula took the role of her father...
Hornets had to go because there's probably a new warwalker being released soon. Shadow specters are probably gonna get substituted by updated swooping hawks. Don't want actual good stat lines pulling away from sales of new kit.
Hearing how the recruit edition is going, maybe I should be buying up those Target boxes and reselling Titus to outside the US customers and fund an endless swarm army…
I managed to pick up the last space marine recruit box set at my local GW store (opened at 10, got there at 10:30)for £37. Idk how many there were but it seemed pretty popular.
Regarding the sorcerer: I figure replace the helm with mk3 power armor and you should be good to go for 40k. Can't see much of the armor anyways, and what there is isn't too far off of mk3 plate
End of an era with the fw stuff going, sadly the writing has been on the wall for a few years now. Moving into a age of everything being a smaller more vanilla range. 😢
Yeah space marines get brand new models and next update eldar and non power armor units lose a huge number of the units from their ranges instead of coming out with new models for them well I hope people like only playing against other space marines cuz as an eldar only player I’m pretty much done with GW don’t care if they update the rest of the Eldar range anymore I’m putting my money somewhere else
Space Marines and Chaos Marines lost more models at the start of 10th than all other factions combined, stop whining you will get a plastic upgrade for most if not all of your models. Marines on the other hand will never be able to use HH units ever again
@@wakito64 lost more maybe yet space marines still have more models and codex’s then multiple factions combined while harlequins were just straight up removed from the game as a faction and all special rules related to them we’re also removed and maybe I missed something but didn’t they just announce that blood angels were getting a bunch of new models and last I checked blood angels was a space marine faction
@@Trinine9 Harlequins will have a detachment in the new codex. Currently you can run a full harlequin army. Also yeah blood angels are space marines but I think that guy meant generic space marines not chapter specific.
@@D4RK_FL4M3 yeah do you think Harlequin detachment will be usable. Have you looked at the data sheets? Do you know what the harlequins do on tabletop what they used to do what they removed from them. Yeah there is no detachment that they could put into the game that would ever make thwm playable in a detachment is not a codex of which they used to have you cannot run a harlequin army you can run a craftworld army with only Harlequin units in it which are overpriced and frankly bad units in general GW just wanted to remove the harlequins from the game so they did not have to balance them and could instead focus on yet more space marine releases, End of story.
